lucifer vs Michael being reheated in the finale of season 15 with no build up is painful. like the nachos are reheated as hell with a stupid twist and no build up. especially after rewatching Swan Song.

Listen I do get the destiel of it all, i truly do - but like to focus on only that
dude this show killed my whole family
I know that Dean's leather jacket got stolen IRL, but I wish they could have brought it back for the finale. I haven't watched it yet (and don't plan to), but I think it would be nice and full circle to show how Dean grew from basing his fashion off of what John dressed like to dressing the same without that toxicity because he chooses it. Plus, it was just an iconic look.
Supernatural 15x19 First Watch
So... Just finished SPN (I'm not watching 15x20 I'm sorry). And that was emotional im ngl. I have a lot ot write, but wow. I started this show for Destiel, skipped a lot of early seasons episodes (I'm going back for those don't worry) because I'm an impatient teenager who likes big bad stuff more than motw, but eventually watched some of the best and worst TV seasons of my life with no skips.
I thought that this episode was good, not great, because Jack beating Chuck felt too easy, and Michael betraying the guys made sense but like should have been developed more... Like how losing Adam caused him to do that, and they could have paralleled how losing Cas caused Dean to change vs. Michael reverting back to his old ways. And with Sam and Dean breaking out of Chuck's narrative ofc. The montage was amazing. And while Cas was not like mourned too much by Dean, I don't know that its that ooc given how much he doesn't want to face his feelings.
So a few thoughts in bullet points about the show before the essays
destiel was more and less gay than i thought and honestly i have no cohesive narrative of dean reciprocating/not that i can work out
if he does, i think he realizes after cas sacrafices himeself
i am more certain that he is bi
I think the show could have ended at season 11, and while I'm glad-ish that it didn't, I just feel like there are so many like issues that are resolved way too easy in later seasons than that. like jack got power from other cosmic beings, but it still felt too easy to beat chuck
same with apocolypse michael (i know that was to set up jack being too powerful)
i think that was a good conclusion.
mary coming back was jumping the shark
and the apocoylpse versions were just too much for me
I also just don't like Jack much
Like his screen time wasnt really doing much developing of characters and more regressed dean's character
but i still wish Amara would have ended up as "God" not him, because he deserves a childhood
Sam got so nerfed in the show
the show itself was more gay and homophobic than i thought
but it ended well given how it started with representation
cas' sacrifice is treated like a straight "unrequited" sacrifice, its given respect
seasons 9-10 were harder for me to get through than 13-14
season 7 is my fav
yall mischaractarize the hell out of half of these characters, and i think that might be for the better
bc in the show without our interpreations, dean is a bit like constrained as a character in a show that doesnt want to recognize his growth (like Chuck)
that being said i dont get why people are saying that the audience is homophobic for not seeing Dean requiting/or shipping Destiel
Like as long as they keep it respectful why should i care/vice versa
So like I think that Dean not really mourning Cas that much in 15x19 is crazy, But honestly, I blame the studio and editing and covid and stuff.
Though, that man is not in touch with his emotions well, and i think he's so up and down that it makes sense for him to be supersad and then ignore his pain, and honestly it would make sense for him to try to block out that pain. He actually got closure with cas this time. If he does know he loves Cas after this point (which is my headcanon), i think this isnt so ooc.
Also, I wish that Amara was the new "God" and Jack got to be a kid. They still balance each other out, no?
Dean basically reitareting how he's, changed, he's not about all the violence and not killing Chuck after Cas told him that he's not "Daddy's Blunt Instrument." Wow.
Why why why why Michael. Like not the freeze frame on his face on the flashback...
also fuck lucifer man. like why does he have to be here.
