So I watched the SPN teaser earlier today, and honestly, I'm a lot more excited than I was originally. I am still worried about how the story is going to progress this season tho, especially since we've been told that we'll be seeing Mary/AU!Bobby and Asstiel "becoming closer" to Sam, but I need to go into this season with somewhat of a hopeful, positive mindset.
Two of the things I can't wait for now that I've seen the teaser is definitely going to be watching Jensen's performance as Michael, and watching Sam be an extra bamf in getting Dean back. Like seriously, hearing Sam say "if it meant finding Dean, I'd do anything" fucked me up SO damn good!
So yeah, am I still still skeptical about this season? Yes. But now do I have some amount of excitement and hope for it? Yes, most definitely.
There was a tweet on Twitter awhile back from someone I either follow or might have only saw because of another person I follow retweeting it (I have a really shitty memory sometimes, so I honestly don't 100% remember the name of the person who made the tweet), although I don't remember what the entire tweet said, I'll never forget what ending of it did; "it has to get worse before it gets better." And that's exactly what I tell myself whenever I feel down about how the show's been for the past two seasons, because I need to have some kind of hope and faith, not in the writers, but just in general. Maybe that doesn't make sense to anybody else, but it does to me.
I do have hope and faith that we'll get our show back to what it's supposed to be: Two brothers who kick monster ass, and don't need to be saved by angels or amateur angsty teens.
