pour one out for me chat, I'm tossing an entire chapter bc I cannot bring myself to edit it into working and the thought to just rewriting it from the ground up is making me want to cry
this is the correct move especially if I don't want the story to stall out (the point of the fic is to Finish It, after all), but I'm Not Happy
turns out my inability to think about christmas presents extends to fictional characters as well shdhfhjgg
trying to think of gifts sg1+sha're would both give to and get from Spoons and it's Not Going Great
so far Sam is getting a batch and very nice tiny screwdrivers (subject to change) and Teal'c is getting introductory polisci and history books on rebellions and forming a new government after they succeed (for the rebel jaffa, spoons doesn't want to dictate how they choose to govern themselves, but she wants them to have resources to figure it out with maybe fewer or maybe just different growing pains)
everything else is just a fucking VOID
how do people make christmas lists every year?? HOW DO PEOPLE GIVE THIGHTFUL GIFTS????

He does let her finish her first cup of coffee before bundling her half-asleep near-corpse into the truck and driving over to the Jackson's where he promises more coffee will be waiting.
