The what

Eddie gives Buck a gift that he hopes will make it clear how he fits into their lives. How he has a home with them forever if he wants it.

And the why

Once upon a time I had hopes the the St Christopher medal would be involved in a love declaration and this is what was created from that. An early fic that I couldn’t actually remember what happened when I got a comment on it this week, I nervously had a little re-read and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Almost like the writer knows my taste 😉

The what

A werewolf/shifter AU. Eddie Diaz was born a shifter, of the wolf variety, and he loves his life. Visiting his Abuela one summer he meets a new friend but not long after that everything in his life gets turned around and hard choices have to be made. Eddie faces his responsibilities and does what he has to do.

Saying goodbye to his wolf Eddie faces spending the rest of his life alone until Bobby Nash turns up in his life with an invite to join his team and then everything changes again.

The why

Well…. this started as an idea as a birthday gift for @monsterrae1 but it turned into something far too long! Sorry Rae 😂 if you read the author notes you’ll see just how far it got away from me but I absolutely loved writing this and where it took me plot wise and character wise. Might be the best thing I’ve written… at least in top five. I’m a big fan of AUs paranormal stuff and of course our fire family dynamic and this combines them all. I hope you might give it a go and if you do let me know what you think.

The what

Buck is a prince under a curse and he’s running out of time before it locks in place and he’s lost forever. His sister still holds out hope that the curse can be broken and when they find Eddie they maybe have a chance.

The question is does Eddie have enough magic to be the one to break the curse and save him and do they have enough time.

The why

Now this one I do remember why. It was my first fic for a challenge set by the lovely and talented @ronordmann and the first time I was brave enough to take on a fic challenge. It even had a deadline! I chose the theme and some colours I think and a line of dialogue then Ro made the cover.

We ended you with Fairy Tale/Magical Buddie AU inspired by Ronordmann’s reverse prompt challenge. Also my first AU and original plotting. I’m still very proud of it. It’s different and creative and I also remember being driving and suddenly getting the idea of how to get Buck out of his curse and I was so pleased with myself. It was a very good idea 😂

The what

E.Buckley a celebrated children’s author is running a competition to win a prize ; to have your artwork in his next book and to attend a meet and greet event with the author.

Eddie Diaz is a fire fighter and single dad whose son has just found out his new favourite author is having a competition.

Chris decides to enter and suddenly they’re both on their way to meet their first real life author.

And the why

This one started as one (of many) options i was trying out for an AU event. It fell by the wayside for a while and Good Knight Sweet Prince was the one I worked on for that but then I picked it up again and had fun with author!Buck and weaving in my fics (including much to my amusement GKSP) to his in story stories. This fic has many little Easter eggs in it for other fics. I also wanted an opportunity to write Buck with kids and a little about selective mutism and how anxiety can hit people hard sometimes and build in some strategies that might help which I did. 😊

It’s a story I’m proud of and the way the characters and the fire fam relationships developed within the story made me happy.

As usual it got a lot longer than I expected but who’s surprised at this point 😉

A knight that’s made friends with a blacksmith wants to make a home somewhere he feels safe. Luckily he’s found just the place. A story about finding home.

And the why

Wrote this for @eddiebabygirldiaz birthday Ryan being a fellow fan of and amazing writer of fantasy / medieval shenanigans for buddie (a niche area so gotta stick together) Wrote this during my good knight sweet prince period so I was feeling the medieval vibes quite a lot and wanted Eddie as a blacksmith and maybe a little bit of smutty fun for our beloved buddie.

Oh and there are bees again. 🐝🐝🐝

And the why

This one was part of a reverse prompt from @ronordmann - ah fun times! The theme was milestones and I think getting a pet was something I specifically chose… can’t quite remember 🤷🏻‍♀️anyway the cover was made based on colours chosen/themes and some dialogue choices if I remember right… while I wrote the fic.

Allow me to introduce you to Brad… 🐝 matchmaker extraordinaire.

And the why

So I was in a coffee shop and a bee got stuck up against the window and I do not care for that kind of thing so much to the mortification of my young companion I set about rescuing it and carried my new buzzy friend out of the shop in a cardboard cup. The bee flew free and my brain created this. And who doesn’t like a pun in their fic title.
