“It’s a Sprint Week!”
Here is the design video my team and I made for Sheridan’s 2018 Fall Sprint Week. The challenge was to create a unique player experience using an alternate controller of your own creation. We made a puzzle box and wired all the inputs using a makey makey board. We are honored to have won the award for “Best Use of Space” and have our game shortlisted as top 10 out of the 45 amazing submissions!
A cute, competitive multiplayer game for 1-100 people, where players connect using their phones.
Check out my finished Sprint Week game!! Definitely try playing with friends, if you can, as the game experience is more fun in multiplayer! Also, each player needs a phone that is connected to wi-fi to play, as the phone will serve as their controller. :)
Cheers to officially being halfway done winter term’s sprint week!!🎉✨ I will most definitely be posting our game when it’s done, but for now, here’s a sneak peek at the finished title screen!! :)
Some physical props I made for baby’s first Sprint Week! We had to create our own outdoor sport, so my group combined dodge ball and bowling. These are the pins in our game that need to be knocked over. I made them triangular in shape (so they are damage and wind resistant), constructed them out of cardboard and duct tape (so they’d be waterproof), filled them with rocks and added a 1 inch base (to make them wind resistant), and spray painted them for the hardcore aesthetic.
Local multiplayer game designed by Banana Squid inspired by Dodgeball and Ice Ice Water.
Hello! Sprint Week was awesome and our team Banana Squid worked really hard to create this local multiplayer game called 'Ice Ball' in 5 days! Using USB controllers, up to 6 players can play it here : https://coleycaverley.itch.io/ice-ball or at the Sheridan College game labs tomorrow afternoon (PM me for details)! We love this game! If you get a chance to play it, any feedback is welcome to improve the game! Thank you,
Banana Squid
Bunch of quick sprites & some concept for a “Sprint Week” game, dubbed Alchemagick for the sake of silly titles (I didn’t animate the walk for the small monster which is why it’s static - it’s not broken). Done in Flash.
In retrospect, kind of wish I hadn’t put as much effort into these as I did :’( But that’s how it goes.
