Quick sketches of Kagehito in my AU! (without his mask lol)

I've been thinking about him a lot recently and how he used to look like before the Makkine invasion. I'm also currently thinking about his planet and what his culture would look like. I'm thinking of mixing ancient mesoamerican (specifically aztec) culture and futuristic alien technology to create this world! I think it will be fun to draw this and hopefully I can share more of this soon!

So as I'm sure those of you in the SRTUC Community are aware of the AU where Jei, aka Jei-san, The Demon Priest, Jizonobu, Blade of the Gods, etc, is the father of our main character Yuichi Usagi.

And I was like oh hell yeah I can get behind this and went on to design Yuichi's mom

And the doomed romance

She's dressed in a Kyūdō-like uniform as samurai were trained in swordsmanship, archery, horsemanship and other things. As an explanation of why Auntie has a sword to pass on but Usagi's mom didn't, she wasn't a samurai who wielded a sword but one who wielded a bow.

There's an antagonist in the Yojimbo comics who was a samurai who instead of using traditional daisho used claw weapons, and historically there have been units of samurai that specialized in certain weapons.

I named her Yuichi Ayumi! She has two ways to get offed by Jei:

Died during childbirth, a tragedy, Usagi never knows his mom, Jei feels heretical bitterness towards his gods for allowing this to happen before shoving that feeling deep, deep down as he is a loyal servant and the will of the gods is his will, before fucking off to continue their work until fatefully reuniting with his son years down the line...

After enjoying a few years playing house, Usagi is young enough to have little to no memory of his parents, Jei's gods ordered him to kill the sinful descendants of Miyamoto Usagi, however, (after shoving down his heretical feelings of sorrow for his wife) while moving on to kill his sister-in-law, she was able to get help to seal/exorcise him away(one of the Kaikishi warriors that wasn't Testujin that didn't survive the encounter? Sasuké the Demon Queller?), but like Jason Vorhees, Jei-san always comes back...

However... as I continued thinking about this AU I realized... Jei doesn't need a male host...and doesn't mind being referred to in a feminine way when inhabiting one...

And thus,

Mama!Jei AU!
