don't execute me for this, but I think people overreact about what shadow milk did to silent salt in by15 and in his timeline. in by15, silent salt trapped them in his realm of silence, killed them all besides smc, and forced them to go through their fears and trauma over and over again. he put them through their personal hells. and you're telling me he doesn't deserve to be killed and mocked by shadow milk? that he doesn't deserve to be turned into his puppet? if you think shadow milk deserved to get stabbed, you are being extremely hypocritical if you say it's "unfair" for shadow milk to kill him in revenge. it's the exact same thing.

additionally, silent salt was absolutely NOT being merciful when sealing them. if you think being trapped in that tree and in your own consciousness while your body was rotting ISNT a fate worse than death, you're making excuses atp.

people always call it out when people are making excuses to like shadow milk or when they justify his actions, but then never say anything when people do the same for silent salt. be so fr, they're the same amount of bad. he drove white lily to kill herself for something that was barely her fault, instead of even thinking about how she was talking about the right ways she could repent. he isn't a good person.

im very interested in ur opinions on silent salt & white lily . not as a ship/pair but their dynamics and interactions together. what did you think of them story wise?

well, I really don't think silent salt actually cares about her past being allies for the time being. he never really learned from his mistakes much from her, only agreeing with her when it worked for both of them and never getting less hypocritical and judgemental. he also openly denied a lot of her plans simply because he thought it wouldn't work. sure, he cared about her enough to not want her to sacrifice herself or end up accidentally putting the other ancients in harm's way, but I think the only reason he cares is because a lot of what she says agrees with what he already thought.

also, I understand you said ships had nothing to do with your question, but I wanted to add that the ship is really just as toxic as any bxa. the fact he calls her "the freedom he's been yearning for" seems more like him yearning for her freedom or virtue and not for her as a person. just anyone to do that job. reminder that he drove her to kill herself, lit her on fire, purposely refused to listen to anything she said, made her live through her mistakes again, etc. people saying their dynamic is less toxic than other bxa ships or dynamics as a whole is, imo, just another way people completely ignore everything silent salt has done. anyway, that's my interpretation of their interactions. I overall think they are both fairly well written, but willy is a moderately likeable character for me while silent salt is simply so hateable💫

btw, I do not interpret what silent salt did to white lily in by11-12 as "training." he was judging her morality and solidarity by his definition only, which he had no right to do, leading her to lose faith in herself momentarily and almost corrupt again. he only tried to fit her into his rigid standards. also, last time I checked, he didn't know anything about the dark enchantress war until convergence of fates (when all the beasts got together at the hotel)? why tf would he be training her for a battle he knew nothing about? and even if this is how some of you interpret it, why would that justify lighting her on fire, putting her through corruption, dismissing everything she said, etc? he had no right to judge her based on his flawed view of what "solidarity" is when he couldn't be there for his fellow virtues. case closed, this is my LAST post about this. I don't want to see anyone disagree, I know this is true.
