SSW16 is still some of the best emmerdale episodes by far, the whole thing was just outstanding. And the film cameras just make it

i was going to start a new fic tonight but ao3 is still down so i’m left with no choice
I mean, I loved the acting and the emotion. My favourite moment was when Aaron said, “of course I don’t love you,” and you could just see Robert’s heart break. But I’m not a fan of Robert pointing a gun at Aaron and everything else, so I wouldn’t call The Lodge the height of romance. I much prefer SSW 2016, that was peak romance for me.
Robert was totally heartbroken at Aaron’s words, which is why I think he put the gun up. He thought he could do it, but he couldn't because he loves Aaron so much.
SSW16 is amazing. Definitely peak romance. Robert didn't want to leave Aaron and was willing to die with him in the car. Aaron didn't want Robert to die and was willing to sacrifice himself so Robert could escape.
SSW16 question..
Those of you who watched it live at the time, was there ever a point where people genuinely thought Aaron/Robert might be the one/s to die?
Robert screaming at Aaron that he’s an idiot and that he’s been trying to ask to marry him is the best soap proposal ever and I won’t be told otherwise
