Star Wars fan theory on the Jedi after Episode IX. CW: spoilers for The Rise of Skywalker. I hope that if Disney produces Star Wars stories set after the events of the Rise of Skywalker, that they have stories involving a new force-sensitive group. This group, called the Skywalkers in honor of Luke and Leia, will be led by Rey, Finn, Jannah and Maz Kanata who are all Force-sensitive). Like the Jedi, the Skywalkers will try to use the Light Side of the Force to enforce their ideas of justice. However, unlike the Old Jedi Order, the Skywalkers won’t be bound by rigid traditions and will instead try to help as many people as possible. In essence, the Skywalkers would be Force-sensitive militant anarchists. I hope that the Skywalkers would have more liberal and progressive attitudes on love than the Jedi, since previous Star Wars stories have shown that love can defeat powerful Dark Side users (e.g. when Anakin Skywalker sacrificed himself to defeat Darth Sidious in Episode VI). Finally, I hope that the Skywalkers would work closely with individuals that aren’t force-sensitive (e.g. Poe Dameron), since one of the central messages of the Star Wars franchise is that anyone can be a hero! I feel like we should discuss Rey’s bandages in TROS.
*WARNING, this is me kinda overanalysing stuff and character*
So we know there’s a time-jump between TLJ and TROS, right? So Rey’s wound should be healed by now and probably just left a scar.
So what’s up with the bandage? She doesn’t actually need it, so she must be wearing by choice. The same can be said for Skywalker’s lightsaber.
It’s put back together but also has that strap around it. And at the same time it looks as if it never broke in the first place. But why? Why does Rey try to hide those scars?
It’s almost as if they are a reminder of what happened between her and Ben and since she has to be at the top of her game she chose ignore those events. It’s as if she doesn’t want to remember she cares about him. It’s as if she doesn’t want to acknowledge their past. It’s as if... she took Kylo’s advice.
“Let the past die... kill it if you have to.”
Yeah I don’t think it’s coincedence that the scar that’s literally shaped like two hands reaching out for each other is the thing she doesn’t want to show. As a Jedi, she can’t let her emotions get the best of her. And according to Kylo, that’s the only way to become what she’s meant to be, which is a Jedi... right?
Well, no... Looking back on Rey’s character, it should’t be surprising at all if turns out to be a sith. Plenty of times she’s shown traits of the dark side. She’s really dependant and connected to her emotions, while she’s fighting she always showcases rage, and almost always kills , she went straight to the dark while she was training with Luke, and the dark side being an “easy and tempting” path (as Yoda says) is probably why she’s so “gifted” with the force. It all checks out (also the teaser shows Dark Rey but we still don’t know for sure what that was).
The thing is, Rey’s past is the one thing that has kept her from going dark. The only reason why she was nice and kind in Jakku is because she held on to her past, she held on to hope that her parents would be good, loving and kind enough to come back for her. Without that, she’s just a scavenger fighting for survival and her own personal gain. Without her connection to her past she’s... nothing... but not to the people who care about her. That is what keeps her from the dark. So if she takes Kylo’s advice, and gives up hope that Ben Solo will come back to her, that’s her turning point. But of course, she doesn’t know that, she’s just gonna do whatever it takes to save her friends because she’s desperate to do so. Kind of like a very powerful jedi turned sith lord we know of. hmmm... (reverse anidala anyone?)
So theory here; this is also Ben Solo’s turning point. When he sees that Rey letting the past die turned her into the worst version of herself, and she won’t “stand with him” even on the dark side, he’ll see that he was wrong... dead wrong... just so wrong lol
Not to throw shade or toot my own horn, but I find this much more interesting than Rey being revealed to be a clone, or Dark Rey being a vision. I’ll take a complex character arc over those two anyday. I’m not gonna assume I’m right tho, because that’s how every starwars fan ends up disappointed.
So anyway, thank you for coming to my TED Talk lol, and always remember that Rey is a precious cinammon roll that deserves attention and analysis
Well- WAS a precious cinammon roll
WE REALLY ARE GETTING NEW CLIPS EVERY DAY NOW HUH
IF THERE IS ONE THING
The whole Star Wars franchise is GREAT at
It’s making a romantic tragedy. After watching The Rise of Skywalker, I came up with my own personal conclusion about the whole franchise (Here I include movies like Rogue One, and Solo) . Yes, I have seen posts that called it Space Wuthering Heights. But I also like to see it as Space Romeo & Juliet. With less family feud. But wait,
What if, Analogically, the fight between the Montagues and Capulets can be represented through the Light vs Dark sides of the whole franchise? This is just my two-cents about Star Wars btw. What do you guys think? :)
Had to draw Reylo Fanart again after watching TROS. I'm sorry for the quality guys, I used crayons and watercolor cause... Idk it's the only art materials I have 😂 Now excuse me as I'm not yet done crying over my emo space prince.
refreshing the page isnt going to make new sw footage appear.
