we arrived at #StawberryFields in @centralparknyc around 9pm. it was basically deserted. we didn’t go for the crowds, we went for @johnlennon to observe what would have been his 80th birthday. I sent photos to my sister who remarked that it seems like people have forgotten about him. I reminded her that’s how life works unfortunately. while this is true for most people, it’s untrue for us. our pilgrimage had another objective. @tinydaniela & I packed up food & PPE to give to people living on the street in Manhattan. we had our moments sending ❤️ John in the great beyond & then handed out 20 sandwiches, bottles of water, hand sanitizer & masks to many in need. Daniela in action in moments like this is truly inspiring. she evokes genuine smiles & lost hope in people that’s enough to make anyone tear up. she even was able to comfort a kid who had run away from her abusive boyfriend. the streets of this country are suffering & anything any of us can do, no matter how small make the biggest difference. choose love & help those who need it. this is how we will all survive.
