Staying Thin || Marley One-Shot
Marley had been on cloud nine since Thanksgiving. The holiday had gone perfect. She had been surrounded by all the people she truly cared about in her life and it had gone absolutely perfectly. She’d had such a good time with her boyfriend and her friends, she couldn’t believe her life was turning out like this. Never in all her years had she anticipated to be this happy. It was honestly all she could think about. She wanted to live in the moment of Thanksgiving forever, but at the same time, couldn’t wait to make new memories. Class had been dull and Marley had needed a break, so she’d excused herself and gone to the bathroom to freshen up. Marley had finished touching up her makeup and was about to head back to class when she noticed someone come out of the stall and scoff at her.
“Have a good thanksgiving?” Kitty asked. No matter if her words were nice, the tone in her voice after had been rude and harsh. Marley just nodded her head, the smile never leaving her face.
“I did, thank you. Did you have a good one?” She asked sweetly, trying her best to be polite.
“Oh, honey I could tell you had a good thanksgiving. I can see all those potatoes already in your hips.” Kitty said, her voice caddy. And Marley instinctively looked down. “You know you have the fat gene, just look at your mom. You have to be more careful about what you do and eat.” She said. Kitty was good at manipulating and she made her voice sound like she was concerned for the brunette and Marley looked at her. Maybe she was right, maybe she had over eaten. She should definitely tone it down a bit. “And you know, I’ve been talking to some people who know Sam, and they are worried for you. They know you guys are together and they know he likes his girls extremely in shape and skinny.”
To anyone else the things that Kitty was saying would have been completely farfetched and something they wouldn’t believe. But Marley, she was so new to all of this, so innocent and the fact that her relationship with Sam might be in jeopardy scared her. He was the last thing she wanted to lose. She felt so strongly for him and enjoyed his company so much it was all she could do not to burst into tears and beg kitty for knowledge on how to keep him with her.
“I think, maybe I could stand to lose a few pounds. I’ll… go for a run after school.” Marley gave Kitty a look like she was thanking the girl for her help, and really she was. She appreciated the looking out for her.
“That’s not going to make you lose a few pounds. You’re going to have to work quickly. You know what I do, to keep Jake around and in love with me. You know he and Sam are kind of really similar. I think that’s why you went out with both of them, but I use these two beauties right here.” She said holding up her two fingers. They help me out a bit. Give me the extra effect to have those last couple of pounds shed and stay off.”
Marley looked at her confused, and then suddenly getting it, starting to realize where kitty was going with this. And she wasn’t sure. Wasn’t that sort of thing bad for you? It didn’t seem healthy.
It was like Kitty could see the hesitation on Marley’s face. “It’ll be just fine, and for the most part, just don’t eat as much too. Then you’ll have less to throw up, but if you slip and you eat too much of those leftovers, you know how to handle them.” Kitty walked away from her, leaving Marley to digest what
