Chapter 19.2

Candace left Walker a note about her quitting. She only wrote that she had other projects that she needed to work on and Walker did not respond well to being called a 'project.' He had his new watcher take him to Sixam-302 to meet Moji.

Walker: Tell me where she is. I need more than a note.

Moji: Watchers change all the time. You've had how many by now?

Walker: And I came to get you back as well, Moji. Don't forget that. But this time it's different. She's not just a watcher to me. Where is she?

Moji: I can't tell you... Even if you found her, what would you say, Walks? She told you this would not be long term.

Walker: I don't understand why. She was happy. I never asked her for anything.

Moji: That doesn't mean she didn't feel what you felt and know what you needed once you two became connected... That level of emotional connection is not for every sim.

Walker: Then how can I get her without her feeling like that?

Moji: Walker -

Walker: Don't you know I hate this? Depending on her like this? Needing a watcher to sign off on anything in general? Give me a world where I can do all of this myself. I'll thrive. Trust me.

Moji: That's not how it works, Walks.

Walker: Then make it work that way. I don't understand how I lost Acadia. I don't think Acadia even understands why she hates me. But if I'm losing Candace because she feels like she's giving more than she can get -

Moji: She didn't say that.

Walker: She doesn't need to say it. I can take care of her under different circumstances. Or at least get to the point where I'm not a project. How do I get to meta-sim status? What occult can I become?

Candace has started working with Ae Sthetic on streamlining CAS and builds for this era. She felt like Moji had had enough time to differentiate herself from the Dreamers before her time but other priorities kept getting in the way.

Ae was thrilled that Candance was finally ready to give up all her legacies as he wanted to retire from the council and focus on being an architect with Ravi. Although Ravi is a Framer as well, he is focused on the conflict between the different occults and meta-universes and has forgotten the importance of CAS and Buildmode. With Candace on the council and him being second-in-command as an architect, they can work on how the pixels are distributed for CAS and build and cut back on the lifeforce needed in ways that Ravi and Moji do not notice.

Chapter 19.5

Tristan met Janiyah and Tae Joon. He talked to Janiyah about her dreams and fears and let her know that he will be visiting her from time to time.

Zuri: Are you sure pulling back the curtain is a good idea for her?

Tristan: I don't know for sure if it's the best route but I want her to know she's right about some things. Nai handled Oasis' truth with no issues and she's most worried about the paranoid trait isolating her from her loved ones.

Maybe she'll relax more now. She should be enjoying this time with Tae Joon. They did not celebrate their anniversary or have any fun outside of their ageing-up ceremonies and Jason's wedding.

He can only cover up the boredom moodlets from his dance machine trait for so long.

Zuri: There it is. That Dreamer goal.

Tristan: What?

Zuri: This is not just about Nai as an individual sim. This is about her not causing issues in her bonding agreement.

Tristan: I don't want Tae Joon to cause issues either, Zuri.

Zuri: I know. But why can't it just be about what's good for her? You've literally moved a paranoid sim to a place where

some of the things she's worried about is a reality and you think that will 'make her more fun for her husband?'

Tristan: Is that what I said? Daiz not what ah meant to say.

Zuri: Then what did you mean?

Tristan: She can see that something is wrong. I can't take away her paranoid trait but she does not have to feel crazy. That's it. If her husband benefits, great. No one is trying to make you fun for Kenny or whomever you choose.

Zuri: I was not talking about me.

Tristan: Aight. If you say so. Still trying to make Oasis think she's wrong for trying to own Jesse?

Zuri: Don't be a jerk.

Tristan: I'm not being a jerk. Let the family get back together, Zuri.

Zuri: They are together. They're at her place right now celebrating Jesse's and Oasis' birthdays.

Tristan: You know what I'm talking about. Two houses, two lives? Glad Gor pushed Jesse to start talking but you know Jesse will go whatever speed he thinks Oasis wants.

Zuri: As he should! With all this mess with Destiny.

Tristan: Didn't think you'd call it a mess.

Zuri: It is! We can't just forget that he chose another sim over her. And a -

Kenny: Nebula, you're up here today?

Zuri: Hey, Kenny.

Damie: Oh, she gives hugs, now?

Tristan: Don't start, Damie.

Zuri: How's the new job, Kenny? Too many meetings?

Kenny: 100%.

Damie *mockingly*: OnE HundRed percent.

Damie [to Tristan]: This is ridiculous.

Tristan [to Damie]: You being a jealous idiot? It sure is. Didn't think Zuri could flirt like this. Can Kenny even process it?

Chapter 19.3

Head Trait-giver Enny: You cannot fool me, Mojisola. You Head Dreamers have a long history of hiding your special abilities. I don't know what you did but that Yellow is not the Yellow I know.

Head Dreamer Mojisola: Well, it's good that she decided to take a vacation to find herself again, no? Maybe you should visit her in M-291. You can reminisce on the all the good times together.

Trait-giver Zuri: Come on, Enny. Kenny is fantastic and he's spotless. Why wouldn't Yellow choose him to replace her on the council?

Enny: I'm not saying she wouldn't choose him. I'm saying not yet. That child of the ocean trait in Moji can make her more dangerous than any that came before her. Have you seen anything out of the ordinary? In her or Oasis?

Zuri *biting her lip*: No, I haven't noticed anything.

Enny: Okay. But keep your eyes open, Zuri. On her and your boyfriend.

Zuri: He's not my boyfriend.

Enamourer Ungoril: I despise these uniforms. Remind me to freeze Candace when I see her next.

Protector Undane: I will continue to refuse to wear mine but it looks a bit less outrageous on you.

Maybe we should open that chest of costumes that's collecting dust.

Zuri: Congratulations, Kenny! Joining the council of the immortals! That's a big deal!

*New* Head Enamourer Pastor Merkenneth: Thanks, Nebula. It's almost as unbelievable as this hug.

Zuri: Don't overreact.

But did Yellow give you any tips before she left? Or did she seem unhappy or anything?

Kenny: Happier than usual and left me a whole manual. It looks like she wanted the Enamourers to move more toward formal commitments and bonding agreements, which you know I'm a fan of.

Zuri: Of course. Of course.

Kenny: I'm not saying I need that for me right now and I'm not trying to pressure you, I'm saying -

Zuri: I know, Kenny. I don't feel pressured. K-drama night to celebrate?

Kenny: Yes, please. I'm behind on Queen of Tears.

Moji: So now that you're Head Framer, you've pretty much climbed to the top of your career, right? And you know since I'm also a mother, I completely understand that life happens and -

*New* Head Framer Candace: Do you really think I left the Lunds just because I wanted a promotion?

Moji: Well, I know you didn't want to feel like you were held back. So now that you're at the top, if a sim you like can match you at the top...

Candace: Babes, I love you but I just don't think a commitment like that is for me at all. It has nothing to do with my career or finding a 'match.'

Moji: Are you sure? Cause when I read your thoughts it sounds like your scared.

Candace: Terrified. Cause it's stressful! And not all stress is worth it. Only you Dreamers feel like a title is worth so much unhappiness.

Moji: I'm not unhappy.

Candace: You just spent any entire weekend alone in M-225. You! Jealous trait Moji that rushed to get married as a teen. We've gone to the beach together more now than we did as kids.

Moji: I just want to check in on my friends!

Candace: You and Ravi work together, live together, share a brain basically with your annoying soulmate coding. It's okay to be exhausted sometimes, Moji. I'm not judging that. I'd just rather avoid getting exhausted at all, you know?

Moji: Well, tell that to bossy pixel man and he'll make it happen.

Candace: What?

Moji: Damie needed a new Protector and -

Candace: MOJI! WHAT DID YOU DO?

Moji: He asked me! You know it's impossible to say no to him!

Chapter 19.1

Victoria was furious when she received the whim from Destiny to end the pregnancy before the first trimester was over. She found Ungoril on M-109 and accused him of lying about Jesse's autonomy.

Victoria: He wouldn't do this if you didn't make him!

Ungoril: Do what?

Victoria: Treat her like she's nothing more than an incubator! He was supposed to marry her!

Jesse sold some of the Lavantille property in his hometown to buy the house that Destiny wanted in Del Sol Valley. He considered it to be an inheritance for his child with Destiny and also wanted her to be comfortable in Del Sol Valley... away from his home. He gave her a copy of the deed that showed the house was in his name only and his revised will that named Oasis Dreamer as the executor of his estate if anything should happen to him.

Jesse did not tell Oasis about the break-up or his will. And Ungoril considered getting involved.

[mid conversation] Zuri: When did he do that? Ungoril: After Angela's funeral. I have to review CLAIRE's footage to figure out what's causing all these inspired moodlets. He should have a grief moodlet because of their high romance bar. Destiny has one. And she's contemplating undoing the science baby since Victoria's request for a Cube-sanctioned arranged marriage was denied. Zuri: Because Jesse does not care? Ungoril: Not enough to grieve.

Zuri: Jun and Kenny reminded me that Jesse's wellness skill can be a weakness. That he'll smile and pretend to be okay when he's not. He really needs sims that could see what he needs and push him in the right direction. A couples' counsellor like he had with Desiree. Or maybe an Enamourer for a watcher? Ungoril: I don't do sappy confessions, Zuri. Zuri: It doesn't have to be sappy, Gor. Just get him to say what he's thinking. Get him to say what he regrets.

Ungoril: Don't let her leave, you idiot.

This is my 100th post on this side blog and the end of 19 chapters! Which is a big deal for me because I'm working on not rage-quitting 🥲 Thank you very much, so very much, for reading and engaging in any way. Thank you for dealing with my spiral and rants on the main blog. Especially back in summer when I wanted to try committing to this watcher[occult]/watched-world[legacy sims] set up and I was asking if it made sense. I know there are a lot of things I could do/could have done better and I want to try to slow down and get some elements right. But for now the quantity and drive to keep trying is a big deal as I get over failing and learning instead of waiting until I'm magically good enough. I already learned so much by just doing and asking questions. And of course the best part is the people that now have no choice but to be my friend 😝 Hi, friends! 😅🥰 Thank you!

Chapter 19.6

CLAIRE: Moji has been the Head Dreamer for a sim-year. And now that Ravi has decided on most of the systems that he wants to put in place, we are reprogramming the servos from Odenna's time.

Ravi has been working non-stop to frame the simulation that he thinks Moji deserves. But their marriage has never been this tense for this long.

The only corner of the simulation that has not been changed in the last sim-year is Moji and Ravi's home on Sixam-143. A home that they rarely visit. And after her last conversation with Candace, Moji took toddler Claire back there for a few days. She never understood how her parents could let anything keep them apart. She hated seeing her brother and father limited to a Savefile while her mother helped run the simulation from Sixam-080 [Odenna, Mojiola and Grim's home]. Tonight, she wishes she never became a watcher just to stay by Ravi's side... Then she would not have controlled the Dukes, would not have taken in the townie, Desiree, and loved her as much as she did, would not have had that love tested by Zena and Odenna, would not have unlocked her gift, would not have been sitting on this bench wondering if she's still in love with Ravi...

Love and marriage was all she ever cared about. Even when she became pregnant, she saw her baby as an extension of her love for Ravi. She enjoys playing with her daughter but she's been grateful for the grandparents and the aunties that take care of her while she works with Ravi. Until this sim-year, all jealous-trait-Moji wanted was to be close to him and make all her watched-legacies live out their happy ever after. But as her unflirty-trait-mother used to say, "What's happiness to a legacy?"

Chapter 19.4

Ravi: I can't believe you pulled that off in two days. I've been trying to get the fairies to leave the vampires alone since Moji took over.

Walker: Couldn't have done it without that chaos you created with the werewolves. The fairies should avoid those enraged emotions but we all have our vices. Territorial wars are a goldmine and a weapon in your favour. Just don't tell Moji.

Ravi: One more thing added to the list.

Walker: I'm sure she has her secrets too. Complete honesty is overrated.

Ravi: Man... I tried telling her that when we first got married. She used to stay up all night crying that I didn't love her because I wouldn't let her read my mind.

Walker: Does she still do that?

Ravi: Nah. But sometimes I miss it, you know? When she cared that much about what I was thinking.

Walker: I hear you. But CLAIRE is impressive. The way you connected them to cut back on her hearing everyone's thoughts. I don't know enough to understand how you did it but I know enough to know it's not easy.

Ravi: Thanks. All ah hadda do now is deal with the lifeforce and pixel shortage so I could weaken the connection in other areas. Feels like the system is taking too much of her essence, know what I mean?

Walker: Yeah, I do.

Candace: Sorry to interrupt.

Ravi: All good, Candace. I have a meeting with Ae anyway. I know this is because of my wife's meddling. But for the record, he's already a valuable member of the team.

Candace: I don't doubt that at all.

Ravi: See you at the debriefing, Walks.

Walker: Yes, sir. Hey, stranger.

Candace: What are you doing, Walker Arnold?

Walker: Enjoying my promotion. Being a business tycoon in one watched-universe is impressive but come on! Running universes? It will take at least a day for this god complex buff to wear off and I

didn't waste simoleons to get it.

Candace: No. Just send vulnerable sims to feed on other vulnerable sims.

Walker: It's containment, Candace. One group will keep getting angry buffs and one group needs strong emotions. Why provoke the vampires who are trying to change? And when the fairies face their emotional deaths, it's all in one place. Easier for us Protectors to collect the pixels and I'll make sure you get what you need for the improvements to the framing system.

Candace: So population control and nepotism?

Walker: Nepotism? I'm following the instructions of my superior. Miss Head Framer on the council. Should I call you your majesty?

Candace: Please don't.

Walker: I'll think about it... Why didn't you tell me your natural hair colour is pink?

Candace: Why didn't you tell me that you're horrible?

Walker: You know my coding inside out.

Candace: Now that you're an occult, I don't have access to you.

Walker: Good. Then just listen to what I say. I won't let you go. Blame my self-absorbed trait if you want but you can't leave me a note that this is over and expect me to accept it. Custody is 50-50 with the kids now.

Candace: You didn't have to do that.

Walker: It's easier for me. I talk with Alex more than Acadia and she has fewer things to complain to me about. Alex keeps his watcher in line and the kids enjoy the renders and alternate universes.

Candace: Moji said you didn't change them. You're not going to, right?

Walker: We won't. They'll choose when they age up to young adults. But don't worry about them. I don't want to think about them when I'm with you.

Candace: You can't say that out loud.

Walker: Why? It's the truth. Come here. No more trying to figure me out

or trying to give me what I didn't ask for. If I want something from you, I'll tell you. Better yet, I'd take it. Understood?

Candace: You know I have no choice.

Walker: I am telling you that you do. There's no recording systems here, right?

Candace: Nope.

Walker: So all the things that you saw in my head that you said...

Candace: You're disgusting.

Walker: So are you. You never said you didn't want to do it. Just that you didn't want to get caught by CLAIRE.

Candace: Not here but maybe at home... you can stay with me when the kids aren't here.

Walker: Maybe. Some of the time. But I'm looking forward to spending days alone.

Candace: Oh. Are you?

Walker: A quiet house built exactly how I wanted it. Whiskey from Steph. And these cigars from Ravi. It would -

not be better than this. I missed you.

Candace: I missed you too.

Walker: Dammit. Was this your plan, Candace?

Candace: I know if I had asked you to adjust your coding for me you would have done it. But the Walker I want does not do what he's told.

Walker: He gets manipulated instead?

Candace: Not manipulated. Motivated. That life was not for you.

Walker: And you're sure this life is?

Candace: Certain. Try not to think about this around Moji and I'll teach you how to work on your mental shield. But you and Theo could be the future of the Protectors. I love Moji but she stops Ravi from making the tough decisions and her brother is weak.

Walker: So this is all a plot?

Candace: Not a plot. It's fate, Walker Arnold. All those buffs you feel? They make merfolk like Damie feel guilty. Like they're horrible sims. But it just makes you want to have your way with me, doesn't it?

Walker: I don't want to be your project, Candace.

Candace: You're not. If anything, I'm yours. I can't stop thinking about what you need just because you tell me to. You need real power and control. Not a pretty house and picture perfect kids. I want them to be happy but -

Walker: I told you I don't want to think about them when I'm with you.

Candace: Kaiso's thorn.

Walker: What?

Candace: The buff you're feeling. Moji turned you. So some of his coding is in you too and your self-absorbed trait will make it stronger. A mix of flirty and anger. Coping mechanism for shame.

Walker: What do I have to be ashamed of?

Candace: Wanting power more than your family. Trading them for Sixam. Thinking of all the ways you can use me.

Walker: I didn't come here to use you. I came here because I love you.

Candace: You love what I can do for you and that's okay. If you didn't come, I could avoid it. But now that you're here, there's no going back. Whatever world you want, I'd Frame it for you.

Walker: I just want you. Believe me.

Candace *coughing*: Don't lie to yourself. Don't lie to me. It will only make you more angry. If there's only one sim you don't have to hide this side of yourself from anymore, it's me. I promise. I love you.
