Here’s What’s Happening in Tucson This Weekend!
Fri 5/11 - Sun 5/13
Happy National Public Garden Day everyone! Today the Sonoran Desert Museum offer’s $5 off admission and free tours of the new Agave Garden. Tohono Chul Gardens and the Tucson Botanical Gardens offer free admission today. And since our UofA students pay an average of $28,000 per year, the UofA Arboretum is free to the public every day! Woohoo! Speaking of the UofA, be careful driving and parking near the university tonight as The 154th Commencement at the University of Arizona starts at 7:30pm. Congratulations to all the graduates!
Tomorrow morning at 7am grab your bagel and cream cheese, a cup of coffee, and wander the parking lot at La Encantada for Cars and Coffee! I hope you find that creampuff of a car you’ve always wanted, at a price you can actually afford! If you prefer the bigger vehicles, head over to Train Day at the Depot and enjoy music, refreshments and learn about the history of Amtrak in America.
You can call it Bean Bag or you can call it Cornhole. Just make sure you know the rules before tossing that first bag at the 2nd Annual CornHole Extravaganza in Oro tomorrow afternoon. And check out Second Saturdays at Steam Pump Ranch starting with the Farmers Market beginning at 9am. On the other side of town tomorrow also offers Second Saturdays Downtown where you’re sure to find food, music and drink specials everywhere you look.
And Sunday, what can be said of this coming Sunday? Throughout all of history, humankind has revered and celebrated the special bond of mother and child. This Mother’s Day you can find brunches, lunches, teas, walks, races, shows, concerts and shopping sales. Mothers should choose to spend their day doing whatever activities their hearts desire. If your mom is still in your life, a special moment shared with her this Mother’s Day just might be the most precious gift she would love to receive! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there.
Whatever your plans this weekend, enjoy the sub 100 degree temperatures while you still can. Don’t forget the sunscreen and water. As always, let us know if we can be of help to you or someone you know.
Steam-powered water pump at @bclivingmuseum. As you can see it has slide valves and some variety of Stephenson link valve gear. #vintage #museum #engine #steam #pump #steamengine #steampump #bclm #blackcountrymuseum #chuff (at The Black Country Living Museum)
