How we feelin' bout that new Superman reboot?

I am SO EXCITED. Like it seems like they’re going to make Superman back to being about hope and optimism and love from what James Gunn has said which thank god cuz leave the grimdark bullshit to Batman.
His suit looks bright and happy again which I love. The logo is beautiful and I adore the trunks comeback. I’m not too fond of the collar, I prefer the more open collarbone look but they did make it so it’s not too stifling or military at least like how New52 had it (hates that). Could use less lining on the suit but it’s so bright and happy I dont even care abt the little flaws.
The Clark Kent look is great I dont care what anyone says abt the brocolli hair 🤣 there has to be a clear difference between Clark and Superman.
The casting is perfect. I had already fancasted David Corenswet since long before the reboot was even casting. He just has that dreamy look so reminiscent of Christopher Reeve. Looks exactly like Superman should and has the acting chops to do it. And I dont think that Superman needs to be played by a Jewish actor but it really is the cherry on top that David is Jewish given the character’s original writers and inspo.
Rachel Brosnahan is good casting for Lois but I low key wanted Samara Weaving to get the part since she ever so slightly reminds me of Margot Kidder but thats my bias. I trust when the casting directors say Rachel and David had great chemistry. Lois Lane is the heart and soul of Superman so low key I’m actually more nervous even though Rachel def has the sass and energy for the role. I just dont want a repeat of Snyder’s Lois where she was just a love interest with very little character (not Amy Adams fault at all). And its hard to tell what James Gunn’s intentions are for her so Im more nervous there.
Generally for the movie itself, while I am so excited given Superman is my fave hero and I dont mind reboots since it is a comic book story, my one fear is how other superheroes will be in it. I would hate for a Superman movie to actually be abt introducing the DCU and other heroes. With James Gunn in charge I just hope he doesnt make it like the MCU. I dont mind a larger universe but superhero movies need to be more contained to the main character and the stories they are telling or its just a commercial for the next hero movie.
