Summary: Neither of them really expected to make it this far. Stepin is beginning, slowly, to recover from the broken bond, and Nynaeve is starting, barely, to accept the reality of her power, and what it means. Now, together, they have to navigate life at the White Tower, new friends and adversaries... and a visit to Kerene's family.
After spending something like 2 and a half years writing fanfiction about him, I have concluded that one of the real tragedies of Stepin's death is that he had such high blorbo potential, and is getting absolutely slept on because he was only around for two episodes. If I could make gifs at all, I'd do one of the part in s1e4 where Kerene comes down the hill and he immediately, physically orients on her like he's a compass needle and she's magnetic north. We love that shit here. He's got this whole tragic backstory that feels like we're getting a complete picture until you start looking at the details. (Stepin, what do you mean a set of Forsaken figurines were the only thing left in your mother's house when she died?). He canonically once tried to start a bar fight with an Aes Sedai.
