hi all here are my thoughts on each of the love interests in lookism/viral hit/questism/ptjverse whatever because ive been thinking about this since last night and if i mention lookism one more time at the dinner table my friends are going to strangle me
LOOKISM
zoe park: my girl. i love her. i adore her. sheās everything to me. in all seriousness i think this is probably one of the best female characters ptj has ever written purely because she goes through actual character development. she changes from a stereotypical girl who has a crush on the hot mc to seeing people beyond their appearance and loving daniel for who he is. also sheās just so so nice and giving ughhh the arc where she dates logan so heāll stop bothering daniel makes me so sad i love her she deserves the entire world me thinks
crystal choi: oh crystal..you are a victim of the plot..i remember when i first started reading lookism i thought iād hate her because nearly everyone in the lookism subreddit (horrible place to be btw. Jkjk) would constantly shit on her and then i saw her in the story and i was like wow. her only crime was being a little annoying and hypocritical. i mean it makes sense that it would bother people that sheās so against daniel in the beginning because we the audience know heās not as bad as she thinks he is but like. come on. she clearly has some sort of reason to believe that conventionally attractive people are assholes and what not..i think she grew up similarly to daniel being bullied because she was considered unattractive, but they both developed in different ways. when sheās in the story i really do enjoy her and i think sheās very sweet and cute ultimate girls girl. iām 95% sure weāre never seeing her again
who do i think daniel should end up with: im gonna be real i want zoe and crystal to be together so badly. it was like my first ship ever when i first started reading zoe most definitely had a crush on crystal and this is a hill i will die on. crystal standing up for her..crystal tying her shoe..zoe saying crystal is her girl crushā¦yeah im insane about them. ok but to actually answer the question i think he and zoe have a lot more chemistry i just donāt see it with crystal. that relationship feels a lil more forced to me and while i think complexity in character relationships is fun itās way too messy for me

gaeul lee: i loveee gaeul sheās so fucking funny to me. donāt jump me but i think she has the most personality out of ptjās female love interests i like that she is allowed to be a Loser. all of her dynamics are fun to read about and i really like all of her potential (platonic. or romantic i donāt care but im thinking platonically here) dynamics too. can you imagine gaeul with taehoon. with yeonwoo. WITH MUNSEONG it would be so fucking funny i canāt describe it. also her crush on hobin while at times is Painful to read i feel like its very real, especially how she acts when it comes to bomi. honestly the way she and bomi treat each other throughout the series even though they have a crush on the same boy is very sweet to me. gaeul in the beginning giving the gift to bomi when she noticed she was jealous and immediately telling her how much hobin talks about her..i knew i would love her instantly..cutie patootie
bomi choi: love of my life i donāt care what anyone says i thought she was so funny and cute. people talk a lot about how she doesnāt have a personality and uh. yeah. kinda. i mean weāve established that ptj and co donāt really know how to write female love interests right. i think for the little she has though itās very fun. sheās very much loserish to me i really liked seeing the story behind why she likes hobin i feel like itās the most insight we have into her. i also really liked her dynamic with the other girls even though we rarely saw it. with gaeul especially she knows that she likes hobin and plans to confess to him but calls her a treasured friend and lets it happen. girls girl. i love you bomi choi. also one of my tiktok mutuals is obsessed with her and their posting about it has really endeared me to her character
who do i think hobin should have ended up with: it was always going to be bomi as much as i thought gaeulās crush on hobin was like. real. that entire storyline always bothered me like why did they even make her seem like an option. a big aspect of hobinās character in the beginning is that he has a big loser crush on bomi. also i think bomi and hobinās dynamic together is extremely funny they are such losers about each other thereās no other way to describe it lol. i canāt lie though i was doing work yesterday and i suddenly had a flash of thought about gaeul and bomi and i was like oh my god this is. this is real to me
QUESTISM
chaerin baek: I Hate Her. okay hates a strong word but honestly every single female character in questism was a huge disappointment. i feel like every single one of them was there either to be sexualized or made into a love interest and i was not impressed. people always talk about bomi not having personality WHAT ABOUT CHAERIN DUDE. THERES NOTHING THERE. i donāt even understand why she likes suhyeon it felt so random. their entire love storyline was painful to read i feel like they lacked chemistry completely. there is no depth to her and hardly any story other that she was bullied but then she got pretty so now sheās a bully. but actually sheās not a bully anymore cause why not. Pmo. this is the peak of the female love interest curse i wanted to like her so so so badly but i literally just could not there were no redeeming qualities of her character to me
soha yang: I Also Hate her. i mean also soha has some points of interest that makes her stand out from the other characters like. you know being a book lover and a Fucking Freak. i guess it was interesting to see a really possessive love interest considering pretty much all their other girls have like..good relationships with their rivals but soha straight up just hates chaerin im crying sheās so. every time soha showed up in question she pissed me the fuck off. not a big fan of the implication that she did something to suhyeon while he was asleep and how its literally?? never mentioned again??? ITS SO FUCKING WEIRD BRUH I DO NOT LIKE HER itās especially painful because suhyeon has zero interest in her even as a friend he doesnāt gaf but she just keeps GOING. another character who i wanted to like but i really just could not.
who do i think suhyeon should have ended up with: im so serious neither of them. he had zero chemistry with either of the girls. i guess you could argue he was into chaerin but honestly their love plotline felt so random and forced to me i could not understand why they liked each other at all. i think this is also a problem of canon suhyeon not being nearly as interesting to me as fanon suhyeon. heās so much cooler to me in my head and then i reread questism and im like huh he kind of. iām kind of. not impressed. i think the person he genuinely had the most chemistry with was cloud but if im being honest i just didnāt care. put him with jaeha or haru or or gukja or hajun or even fucking yugyeom i donāt care he probably has more chemistry with any other man in the series because NONE OF THESE WRITERS WANT TO CREATE INTRIGUING FEMALE CHARACTERS WITH DEPTH SO THE ONLY RELATIONSHIPS OF INTERESTS ARE BETWEEN THE MEN SNODMSODSMPXSMLXKD
