Help!
It was full of helpful suggestions of how to save the planet in small ways. This year he's planning to contribute to a second book - this time about making the workplace a happier and smarter place. The brief is this: what would make the best ever working environment? We need your help with suggestions for a poster that would come with the book - basically a list of 500 suggestions to make the working environment a better place - and the ones that are featured will be attributed to the person who suggested them. Here's what we've come up with so far:
talk to temps
know the names of your office cleaners
always take a lunch break
use both sides of the paper when photocopying
don't pee in the lift
Pls send your suggestions to [email protected] and many thanks!

Another busy old week down here at The Old School House with lots and lots going on for clients both old and new.
We'll kick off with an interview that a couple of our directors (Richard Elwell and Jon Harrison) did with Richard Draycott of MiNetwork last week. Broadcast as a podcast to members, it details their thoughts on launching and running a business for over ten years through some of the toughest trading conditions in living memory. Hear what they had to say by clicking here.
Not much has gone live for One Black Bear as we edge ever closer on a number of projects to exciting launches and reveals. The team have been involved in several pitches and proposals this week, with some big and small stuff in the pipeline, fingers crossed it will all bear fruit. No pun intended.
Our New Business Director, Steve Price attended a seminar in London on Thursday morning with the legend that is Steve Henry on how to pitch challenging work. Some great knowledge gained and dare we say it, lessons learned. Now for a little bit of honesty not usually witnessed on pages like this. We didn't win a pitch and in the post decision interview we were told that we simply weren't good enough in the work we presented. Hard to take - but as always, we learn from our mistakes and we will endeavour to ensure that this reason is never given to us again. Thanks to the client for their honesty though. It's rare.
Now back to some positivity, if you haven't seen the photos of our Birmingham REP centenary brochure already, here they are. A piece of print we're very proud of and the quote from the client when they were delivered: "The reaction here has been, well let's say dramatic."
Finally, onto the weird and wonderful that's been inspiring and entertaining us this week: Comedy Photoshop genius. A great use of Instagram to get hired. Some beautiful restaurant branding. Got a skill? Share it. Interflora isn't smelling of roses.
