The Killing Ground (1979). The Killing Ground examines toxic waste, its effects on public health, and failures by government agencies and chemical companies to keep it contained.
Compelling and informative, this is a solid, albeit paint-by-numbers documentary about the failures of chemical waste disposal and everything around it. It's alternately harrowing and brusque, frustrating and terribly sad, and those tonal shifts can sometimes be fumbled, but overall, it achieves what it wants to. It shines a light on a pretty awful issue and the impact that has on regular people. 7/10.
For the past six years I have held a May music recital. This year I hosted a "Jam Party" at Austin Soundcheck.

Rudino's Acoustic Show - Part2 - Tanner Larson, Steve Singer & Max Hunter have all been frequent participants in recent live acoustic shows. They all performed at the first Rudino's show as well as the Dig Pub shows. Tanner is a huge fan of punk rock and bands like The Dead Kennedy's and The Offspring. The video begins with an instrumental jam of an Offspring song called "Dirty Magic" which Tanner and I turned into a blues / rock 12 bar standard I - IV - V with vocals. Next up is Steve Singer who has built up a great introduction to his performance. He begins with talking to the crowd over the twilight zone theme song before kicking into a cover of The Beatle's "Rocky Racoon". Max Hunter is the third member of "En Fuego" to lend his talent to the evening. Max has performed lead guitar with me on multiple occasion though this is his first time performing solo with guitar and vocals. Included on the video is his cover of Ed Sheeran's "The A Team". The video is a compilation which features all three songs in their entirety. Enjoy!
