got always perpetuating the stereotype of "the good victim" or "the good survivor" and it's literally so disgusting. dany & sansa both deserved and could have had good endings but instead d&d decided that the woman who was angry should be punished for her anger, even though that is a normal and valid response to trauma. it's infuriating.
say it louder please!! such bullshit

hey there lex :) i just rewatched the hunger games today, are you a fan? if so, do you have any headcanons/ships/etc?
Hi, Jamie!! Oh gosh, yes I love The Hunger Games! I haven’t watched the movies or read the books in a long time but I really enjoy the story and the social commentary within it. Suzanne Collins does a beautiful job world-building, her characters are super interesting and very well thought out and humanized.
I don’t have a ton of headcanons, but since Haymitch is my favorite character I always like to think of him having some peace at the end. I know that in canon he continues to drink, and given the state of the world I doubt he’d ever be willing to heal in that sense, but I like to think of him remaining close with Peeta and Katniss. I like to think of him being “Uncle Haymitch” to their children (I would say babysitter, but I don’t think Peeta would trust Haymitch alone with his babies, so he’s just their weird uncle who has a bunch of geese and lets them use his house as a playground and even though he’s still gruff and surly and, well, Haymitch, he loves those kids with all his heart and would do anything for them.
I also don’t really have a bunch of ships, but I really loved the relationship between Finnick and Annie and I will truly never forgive Suzanne Collins for taking Finnick away from her. I feel like that was the one portrayal of true romantic love in the book (because I just...hate the concept of the love triangle, and while I know that both Peeta and Gale did love Katniss in their own ways, both relationships always felt a bit...off? to me) and it’s heartbreaking to see that one true relationship destroyed by tragedy. They didn’t deserve it, and I’ll never not be mad about it.
talk to me and distract me from how cranky i am
thor & bruce for the character ask thing!
How I feel about this character: Thor - My beautiful space son, a wonderful galactic golden retriever, the alien who won my heart. I’ve always been intrigued by Thor because the idea of a superhero with a basis in genuine mythology is SO COOL in my opinion and I love seeing how themes of Norse mythology play into comic!Thor’s character and world. Also, he’s a ray of sunshine and deserves all the happiness in the world. Bruce - I...never really cared much for him until Mark Ruffalo came along. I just wasn’t a big Hulk fan (which is weird because split personalities/shared inhabitance a la Jekyll and Hyde is something I really love), but Ruffalo really humanized the character for me and made him super endearing and interesting.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: I ship them both with being HAPPY and with HIGH SELF ESTEEM and POSITIVE FRIENDSHIPS and generally not being hurt by the world that won’t stop throwing shit at them like please leave my children alone.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Thor - I adore his dynamic with Loki, especially under the direction and vision of Taika Waititi; I feel like no other director really got that sibling dynamic down like Taika did, and he also allowed Loki to be a hero and fight by Thor’s side without diminishing his true nature and I adored that. Bruce - His friendship with Tony is now and forever will be one of my favorite things about the MCU and I will love it to my grave.
My unpopular opinion about this character: Thor - I don’t think this is unpopular but please stop making him eat all the PopTarts in fan fiction it happened ONE TIME okay Jane gave him PopTarts ONE TIME please put this to rest. Bruce - I saw BruceNat coming a mile away, I knew what Whedon was setting up in The Avengers, and I...loved it.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Thor - I honestly just wish the Russos had never gotten their hands on him. They undid all the beautiful character development from Ragnarok within his first, like, fifteen minutes of screen time in Infinity War and I’ll die mad about it. They did my boy dirty. I’m suing for emotional damages. Bruce - I wish they had explained the Professor Hulk thing with more than just one off-handed line about him spending the five year gap in a lab working it out. After seeing him struggle with the Hulk for ten years, I feel like audiences deserved to see that union of Bruce with Hulk, even if it was through, like, a comedic montage or something.
send me a character & i’ll break their ass down!
