I really can’t conceptualize of what is going through filoni’s and favereau’s minds right now. Like do they think it was good?? Do they think they did good characterization and pacing and writing?? Are they patting themselves on the backs? Or do they admit to themselves they churned out dog crap?
ok I’m done for now.
I see people who think that we are “bitching” about Bellarke.
Sorry to disappoint, but this is not about Bellarke. Mind you, I would have LOVED to have canon Bellarke, but I was prepared not having it as long as the story development made sense.
The “bitching” as some call it, is about how somebody decided to throw out of the window 7 seasons worth of character development without a proper send off. Especially for a major character: even side characters have had better send offs.
Even if next episode there is some mourning, the fact will be that you don’t kill a fan favorite and lead character without properly tying up his storyline. He didn’t even get to say goodbye to his sister!
And if there is a chance that all this was a fluke, I’ll still be hurt with the way it was handled.
I still am going to watch until the end because I spent 6 years of my life engaged in this show. I never liked a show as much as I did with this one. And not just Bellarke : I love all the characters. I hope at least I will be happy with some part of the ending. But I will never be OK with Bellamy’s handling in 7x13.
Friendly reminder that even if the character was a cis, straight, skinny and all the stuff-character, it doesn't give you ANY right to change any part of their identity <3 If changing a gay character to be straight isn't right, then the opposite isn't right either Same goes for EVERYTHING. Skin color, sexuality, weight, you name it If it is morally wrong when you switch the roles, it is wrong in the original thing too. Also please don't start any drama over this-
What gets on my nerves is the lack of consistency in Sarawat. I invested in the series not only thinking “they’ll have a happy ending”, I know they will, but genuinly did it because it was good stuff. It’s not rushed, it made sense. Consistent! From ep 1 to 11 we were presented to a Sarawat caring, honest, cute/fluff when it’s Tine related, mature - knows his feelings, sticks to it, acts like it. He found Tine, sticked to his side and slowly made Tine open up little by little till Tine himself felt like “I like this person too...HE is worth it”. Sarawat was patient despite feeling all excited and butterflies every single time he was next to Tine. Why did ep12 had to happen?? This is not the Sarawat I know.
Still Ranting
Maybe I’m just allowed to be upset because I’m a human being, and we’re allowed to empathise with each other, no matter far apart we are, even if it’s not my country.
We’ve got this quote in Canada about the United States, spoken by the late Pierre Trudeau (past Prime Minister and father of our current one). He said
"Living next to you is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt."
So we react to the events across the border, and question how much of the same is happening in our own country, and how we can help own citizens and root out similar wrongs.
I guess I can feel sick, angry, and cry about hurt people all over the world, but when they’re right next door it feels like you ought to be helping somehow. I wish I could bake a cake, make a care package, or offer to watch their kids. Maybe even mow their lawn for them. I dunno. Help out while they struggle with this.
They Rey Palpatine thing didn’t land emotionally because the character of Rey had no emotional connection to Palpatine.
Luke finding out Vader was his father resonates and works because there are emotional stakes. Luke has fought Vader. He has spent almost two movies hating him. Vader killed his mentor, hurt his friends and (he thinks) murdered his father. Hearing who he really is and being devastated by it? It lands, because the character of Luke is personally invested.
Rey? For all we knew, she had no idea who Palpatine even was. Shit, she thought Luke was a myth. Why should she care about Palpatine? The writers literally took her character and forced this plot line on her to satisfy themselves and the part of the fan base who was obsessed with legacy and bloodline.
Millions of dollars in their pockets, and these fucking dudes put something out there that most first graders could top with an elementary knowledge of how storytelling works.
They need to start hiring fanfic writers for this shit.
@ all the people who make memes and joke about Australia burning
You're a real cunt, I hope your year is ruined.
We've lost so much and you fuckers wanna joke about it, sitting safe far away while my people fucking run for their god damned lives. I hope your 2020 repays you with the same fucking bullshit, you mongrel. I hope you eat shit and die.
