I understand what you mean about the height thing, but me as someone who’s lgbt I think it’s ok either way short, or tall. Some ppl may use it in a negative way, to encourage stereotypes, but some just want to experiment with certain characters in different ways, and don’t mean anything bad by it 🤷‍♀️

I don’t believe people “use” or “know” they’re reinforcing negative stereotypes; they have these stereotypes reinforced in a way they do believe the guy needs to be taller. Society reinforces the idea of fragility for women, and in a relationship, “taller women don’t meet the standard” [x] [x] [x]. 

Media almost never offer this type of diversity between hetero pairings, girls are shorter and if the girl is taller, she doesn’t use high heels, or they shoot scenes in a way the guys seem taller. 

In this society, height has an important role and taller people are more desirable, more powerful [x] [x]. The common stereotype of handsome men comes only in a taller version. Shorter people, especially men are the object of jokes for the opposite reason, and when you’re short, trust me on this, you’re very aware of that fact [x] [x]. It may not matter but even if you’re more or less confident is there. Heightism is real for tall women and short men [x].

Every time I heard this “angles”, “headcanons”, “experimentation” I roll my eyes. Check other ships (Levi and Armin’s ships sans Mikasa) and you won’t see this “experimentation”. If the girl is shorter, she remains shorter [x] [x] [x], if the guy is taller, you’re not going to see an avalanche of art and fics with taller Levi. But when it comes to Mikasa…

If this “experimentation with characters in a different way” were actually a thing, you’d find it in the m/m ships for them [x] [x] [x] [x]. Have you seen how tiny some people draw Mikasa with Eren (even before the time skip), or the fics were Levi keeps kissing her head, even if she’s wearing high heels? To me, it lacks imagination. 

I know people would prefer a more politically correct answer and me telling yes, this is not important, everyone has their preferences and so forth and so on, but it is important. Women representation in media is a problem, and politically correct opinions are not my thing when it comes to patriarchy and stereotypes. 

This is heteronormativity, patriarchy, sexism, stereotypes, pick your word. You may not believe me, but it is. I’m guessing you like it too, I can’t stand it.
