They were on their second date. The second one; a nice and calm evening in the movie-room of her home, watching all kinds of movies—from Disney to Horror ones—but it wasn’t until they got in the Romantic ones that he brought up the topic.
“You …what?” she asked, still in shock and somewhat disappointed, her eyes expressing a little bit of feeling betrayed but she stayed quiet for the moment. He looks at her, a determinate look on his face, and repeats himself.
“I said: I can’t promise that I won’t make you cry, because I will” he repeated, a straight line in his lips, and she push herself away from him a little, making just enough room for her to look at him right in the eyes.
Well, he was true to his words, because she could already feel the tears forming in her eyes.
Before she could even utter a single word, he opened his mouth.
“But I can promise you that it will be just one time” he continue, and she could hear the truth in those words. She relaxed a little but looked at him still confused and incredulous.
He made his move and took both of her hands, holding them in a strong but gentle grip, and called her name quietly, looking at her with the love and kindness she always dreamed to be looked at like.
“And that time will be the day when I will ask you to be my bride”
