There is a specific demographic of mostly rural, working class, cisgender, straight, white person that I wish we could bring to the left but the Republican Party has still cornered this particular type of person.

Basically Im thinking of the “kid rock” or “Miranda Lambert” type. The type who still dabbles in the “sex drugs and rock and roll” scene and likes country and rock music that has an edge to it. The kind of person who isn’t legalistic or that socially conservative. The kind of person who thinks of themselves as anti establishment, anti authoritarian, and anti war.

How did these people vote for Donald Trump who’s whole brand is “rich, yankee, coastal elite, fat cat, Wall Street, real estate tycoon who puts tacky fake gold on everything and is now a senile old establishment politician who just wants to control everything and be an old man yelling at clouds.”

That’s Trumps whole brand at this point. Why do they like it?

There is also another demographic that seems to have fallen for Trump. The “Andy Griffith” types. The kind of white working class Dads who are maybe middle age or older who CLAIM to value honesty, integrity, accountability. The family values classic sitcom dad type.

How do we get them off of this increasingly crazy and corrupt far right movement?
