Please share this and spread it like wildfire. A lot of content creators’ could potentially lose everything. One of the Youtubers I follow are cultural educators using video games. He uses music from said games. Hell teenage TikTokers are at risk because a lot of the stuff they do have popular songs.

Hey ya’ll do you know how corrupt the music industry is right? And how it sues, copyrights, and send anyone DMCA strikes for them smallest infractions, even if its fair use? Well its about to get a whole lot worse. 

The music industry is paying for a bill to be passed that will make DMCA strikes a felony. That’s right, those DMCA strikes everyone and their grandma gets for humming happy birthday? They’re going to throw you into prison now.

DMCA takedowns are not all bad, they prevent people from stealing works and claiming it as their own, but the Music industry is not known for being legal about their strikes. And they have and will strike anyone using their songs even if it fair use.

Senator Tillies, (who has taken ‘donations’ from pro-entertainment corporations) has slipped this law into an omnibus bill (which is a necessary must pass law that deals with government spending, that if not pass will cause government bodies to shut down or not work properly). Purposefully slipping this in so that it will pass by unnoticed, and the entertainment backers will benefit greatly from this, shutting down anyone who even accidentally uses, or streams copyrighted music.

This can affect streamers greatly, especially those who are gamers. Because some games have copyrighted music in them, that they must turn off or they get a strike. 

The #stopDMCA has risen up to make people aware of the corrupt law, please share this and anything you can find, stop the corrupt music industry who are so power and money hungry that they will shut down anyone who is using their property, legally nor not. We need reform, not dictatorship.

If I had the money and legal team, I’d start a music critique web series on YouTube. This would obviously use fair use to its fullest extent to allow me to use copyrighted music legally, but as anyone knows, YouTube doesn’t respect fair use. This would inevitably result in most, if not all, of my episodes being hit with strikes, right? That’s where the money/legal team comes in; I would take each and every single fucking case straight to court and squeeze every god damn penny I could out of the music industry. Anytime they slap me, I drag them out of YouTube and into a courtroom and beat them down. I would continue to do this relentlessly until the music industry quit abusing everyone else. I want the industry abused until it changes, it’s a corrupt and archaic piece of shit that only listens to money. Someone with the power needs to start ripping that money away from them.

DMCA basically means "Digital Millennium Copyrighted Act" which if you used a copyrighted musics, you will go to jail, so if your videos have a copyrighted music, private it or unlisted it.
