I guess I haven’t posted this zine anywhere on tumblr yet but yeah heres the big shitty thing Minnesota has been fighting for sevenish years. This Black Snake problem ain’t gonna crush itself so if yinz can lend a hand to the water protector effort thad be gr8. donations, legal support, get word out, or rollup to the frontlines and throw down shoulder to shoulder with the Indigenous homies who’ve been fighting pipelines since there were pipelines - solidarity is everthing.  here’s a handy linktree *the zine was made in 2019, recently Enbridge just got their last needed permit. They’re currently entering construction despite pandemic conditions and multiple active lawsuits.

the pipeline is at 70% completion and its more important than ever to protest, help the water protectors on the frontlines and contact Biden to tell him to stop line 3. If it gets completed it will destroy many natural areas and lakes and it violates the treaty rights of the anishinaabe people, as it passes through their land.

So contact the US president, and send letters about how this pipeline must be stopped, not only does it violate treaty rights, it will cause damage to the land and water surrounding it.

Poster in Worcester, Massachusetts against Line 3, a proposed pipeline expansion to bring nearly a million barrels of tar sands per day from Alberta, Canada to Superior, Wisconsin.

It was proposed in 2014 by Enbridge, a Canadian pipeline company responsible for the largest inland oil spill in the US. Enbridge seeks to build a new pipeline corridor through untouched wetlands and the treaty territory of Anishinaabe peoples, through the Mississippi River headwaters to the shore of Lake Superior.

Line 3 isn’t about safe transportation of a necessary product, it’s about expansion of a dying tar sands industry. Line 3 would contribute more to climate change than Minnesota’s entire economy. Minnesota’s own Department of Commerce found our local market does not need Line 3 oil.

We need to decommission the old Line 3 and justly transition to a renewable, sustainable economy. Line 3 would violate the treaty rights of Anishinaabe peoples and nations in its path — wild rice is a centerpiece of Anishinaabe culture, it grows in numerous watersheds Line 3 seeks to cross. It’s well-past time to end the legacy of theft from and destruction of indigenous peoples and territories.

Right now there are a group of indigenous people that are fighting to stop Line 3. There is currently is a pipeline that runs from the US to Canada that is being abandoned.
