enbridge, a canadian company, is paying off american police to protect their pipeline restoration and expansion project and arrest peaceful protestors, who are mostly indigenous and exercising their first amendment right on their own land.

why is this pipeline so bad?

it crosses over 2 HUNDRED bodies of water, spanning 1097 miles of land.

it goes over sacred indigenous land, thus violating numerous treaties.

there is a known correlation between pipelines going through native land and a rise in missing and murdered indigenous women and 2 spirit.

the pipeline will be carrying tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest and most destructive fossil fuels known to humanity.

and although the pipeline restoration is just around 70% complete as of august 2, 2021, it has already spilled toxic oil waste SEVERAL TIMES. the old line 3 was responsible for the largest inland oil spill in history.

enbridge knows how bad this pipeline is, which is why they are paying the american police. so far, hundreds of people, mostly indigenous, have been VIOLENTLY ARRESTED for peaceful protest. these arrests are illegal under the constitution. any videos made on tiktok about line 3 are being silenced, with indigenous users such as quiiroi and ugrunna having their accounts shadowbanned on the daily.

HR 1374, if passed, would provide even MORE funding to the police to "protect essential infrastructure," which would result in more violence and state sanctioned murder against natives protesting the pipeline.

this could be one of our last chances to stop global warming before we go off the deep end forever.

the pipeline is at 70% completion and its more important than ever to protest, help the water protectors on the frontlines and contact Biden to tell him to stop line 3. If it gets completed it will destroy many natural areas and lakes and it violates the treaty rights of the anishinaabe people, as it passes through their land.
