It is wild to me how many times I will make a fairly gender neutral post about transphobia or reproductive freedom (not accounting for the last post about women and reproductive choice) and have some dickhead reply with “WHAT ABOUT TRANS MEN?” what about them? I’m a trans man making this post. What do you want me to do, say “Misgendering trans people is bad INCLUDING TRANS MEN.” or “People deserve access to abortion INCLUDING TRANS MEN.” just so you know you are included in this universally applicable statement? We are human beings who deserve agency and peace and love but I also do not believe the world revolves around us in particular. Yes, we are marginalized and silenced but using gender neutral language that applies to all trans people or all people with the capacity to get pregnant is inclusive. There are times that we must advocate for ourselves in particular and there are times where we are fighting the same fight as a diverse group of people and forcibly centering ourselves is weird and inconsiderate. You’re doing the ‘what about men’s mental health’/‘what about male loneliness’ bullshit.
