Umami was the most luxurious restaurant in town. They dined here on the day of their arrival, when Takano was introduced to this strange cold looking blonde woman everyone addressed as Her Majesty, even though she was not a queen of anything in particular.
Lady Fontaine was the opposite of his soft and gentle mother. She was strict, demanding, blatantly straightforward and almost ignorant at times. She smelled of expensive perfume and tobacco, drunk red wine for breakfast and looked exhausted any time of the day. Her somber look and loud vulgar laughter made her look like an evil queen from a fairytale. Takano really wanted to hate her back then, but for some reason did not.
She was smart, probably just as smart as his father or maybe even more. She made him throw away his toy robot collection and prohibited watching TV, but let him ride on a passenger seat of her Lamborghini and kept calling him “man” as if he was a grownup and not a boy who just turned seven. Over two month they spent together, he grew to like her against his own whims.
