Happy Derby Anniversay - Dahmer's Dearest #817
After joining the Orlando Psycho City Derby Girls, Dahmer’s Dearest was placed on the Arkham Assailants one year ago! Here is a little recap of her first derby year:
“I never thought that I would love roller derby so much when I joined recruitment a year and a half ago. I was never a sporty person but I wanted to try something new. Who knew I would come so far in the short amount of time that I’ve been involved with the league.
Originally, I didn’t think that Arkham was the team for me but I was so wrong! All of the girls were genuinely welcoming and we all got along rather well. Throughout the season we started to grow into a pretty great team! I think we all cried when we won our first game in the season (I know that I definitely did).
I still felt the need for more roller derby in my life after being on the Arkham Assailants for six months so I tried out for the travel team. And let me tell you, becoming a Straight Jackette was such a high for me! My skills started to improve at a pretty fast pace and I became more confident in my skating.
I can’t wait for many more years for roller derby in my future. This last year has been truly remarkable!”
