To heal my heart:

Every New years eve, everyone gathers at Joyce and Hoppers house and stay for the week.

They all talk about their lives, how things are going. Stay up late getting drunk, spilling out all their worries about life.

The first night they get there, everyone sleeps out together in the living room. On the pull out couch, on air mattress'. Doesn't matter how, as long as they're always together.

Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max always manage to convince everyone to play a short campaign of DND, and everyone cries when it finishes.

Everyone with significant others bring them along, but it's clear they mostly do that so they aren't left out. The partners, though they don't fully understand why all of these people have found each other, regonise that they have, and it brings them joy knowing they always have them.

These people have been trauma bonded for life, and all of them can feel it. If they don't meet up, then something in the world isn't right. Even if some of them won't admit it, they all need each other to continue forward. Not always, but just the gentle reminder that their people are still with them, even if they aren't always seen.

Is anyone else kind of weirded out by Murray this season? I'm not a fan of how creepy and sexist he acted towards Nancy

And if they're doing this to make Jonathan's character grow or mature, can they at least make it more obvious? Bc all Jonathan is doing is staring and sulking and contemplating proposing to Nancy bc Murray gave him a ring.

Like does Murray want Jonathan to...tame Nancy? I don't know how else to interpret the whole "just do it already, man up" either through sex or marriage or both. And the whole "potato sacks" joke was a bit awkward and forced.

Side note: I love Nancy's conflict with sexism throughout the whole show, but the worst thing is that JONATHAN GAVE NO REACTION?? Like not even a "that's my girl" look? Like please give me any visible sign that Jonathan loves her. The Duffers are telling me, but I don't see it.

I fele like the Duffers wanted some way to progress Jonathan and Nancy's relationship, but this feels unnatural. Why not replace Jonathan and Murray's conversation in the field with him and Nancy talking. You can still include themes of sexism coming from Jonathan to have that be a conflict between them, and maybe Jonathan realizes he wants to marry her on his own. I just don't see a good reason to put Murray in the middle of it, other than he needs something to do besides being the smuggler.
