Joyce runs the school stage play in the official Stranger Things play and blue and yellow means byler (because Robin says blue and yellow meet in the west and then in season 4 they meet in California which is West of Hawkins). Joyce has highlighted the romantic leads in blue and yellow and then the highlighter is green when they engage romantically AYEEEE 🤨🫵.

I found this great synopsis of the Stranger Things play on reddit but it was an ungodly long image that was arduous to read, so I split it up into manageable pieces for you all to enjoy!

Besides Henry Creel’s backstory, TFS also revealed more of Brenner’s history, Dimension X, the Mind Flayer’s lore, The parents of our main characters, etc. It’s not just Henry’s story that’s important, but the first shadow is HOW IT ALL STARTED! And they didn’t explain that further in S5 nor did they conform anything (not everyone is rich and can travel to New York whenever.)

Having seen the Stranger Things play I have to say, I really appreciate how Steve and Robin had absolutely NO business being involved in any of that shit. Just about every character had either personally met Henry or their parents knew him and had at least a tiny connection to him, even Eddie's dad technically knew him, but the Harrington's and Buckley's had fuck all to do with his shit and those two were STILL thrown into the supernatural monster bullshit firsthand. WHAT were they doing there??

I’m not a Vecna apologist and I’m not defending people who are because I understand the sa metaphor but I’m just trying to explain why some people think he could have a redemption arc

I’m assuming the people who want that for him have watched the first shadow. And yeah while show Henry shows no remorse or sympathy, play Henry isn’t actually evil. He starts out being a kid who dreams about killing pets and can’t figure out what’s wrong with him, his mind is corrupted because he’s being possessed by the shadow monster, an evil that exists in dimension x. Which he actually tries to resist until doctor brenner forces him to let it in.

There is a contradiction between the show and the play in that sense. While the play says this evil existed before Henry the show suggests Henry creates the shadow monster in a black widow’s image.

I would say forget the play and focus on the show if the play didn’t play a part in season 5, now I don’t know what to tell you.

They could find a way to explain in season 5 how both of these things make sense at the same time then I’d think a redemption arc might actually be possible.

Not for Vecna, or 001, but for Henry Creel.

The shadow monster would be the show’s villain or even doctor brenner, and those two could never be redeemed. But maybe Henry will free himself from the hold of the evil.

That’s why people want the redemption arc, not because they don’t care about what he did, but because they believe it wasn’t him who did these horrible things.
