What do you think about the Spotify x Stranger Things music playlists? I know many byler shippers here on tumblr have talked about them a little bit. I was curious to take a look and noticed that Will’s playlist have the song title “Every breath you take” by The Police, but neither Mike or Elevens list have this song… I found it odd because that song would make more sense to be on their playlists since the song played during their moment at the Snowball in season two, what’s your thoughts?

I like that they did official playlists for Stranger Things characters, I think it's fun for fans and gives us analyzers some more clues to dig into 😃 You're right that Will is the only one who has "Every Breath You Take" by The Police on his playlist, neither Mike or El's playlists have this song, which many people might expect to be the other way around since Mike & El kissed to this song in s2 at the snowball.

I think the fact that this song isn't on Mike or El's playlist further emphasizes that this is not a romantic song. (from my byler proof masterslides):

Besides the intended meaning^ for this song (another dig at young obsessive love) it also closes out the season, and fades out while we zoom out away from the gym and the we get a glimpse of the shadow monster looming over Hawkins Middle School in the upside down, which we know signifies that the town of Hawkins & the kids aren't done with the Mindlfayer yet (that it will return in s3):

The song "Every Breath You Take" is related to the mindflayer, which explains why it's on Will's playlist, and no one else's, because Will is the only one (besides Billy) who has had a direct connection/personal experience with the mindflayer. Will is possessed by the Mindflayer & connected to it in s2, and he can still sense it in s3.
