             “ Funny how you decide to approach me just as I start cookin’ my rabbit. You’re not hopin’ for a bite, are you? He’s small --- and I haven’t ate in TWO days. ” Setting down his bow, Gared’s gaze rose upward from his own lap, looking at the other young man through the flames of his ( somewhat pathetic ) fire. He wasn’t against sharing, per say, but his HUNGER was starting to get the best of his mood.  “ Or is this about somethin’ else? ”

         There were no DISPUTES between him and his brother, other than choose the fate of the army, and the CHRISTIANS; and if there was one thing the GREAT ARMY was doing with his character, was to REVEAL IT in what for some appeared to be an arrogant and bothersome ( even ) with high expectancies in performance and LOYALTY to his beliefs and vision. A more MANIPULATIVE side of him began to show from time to time–– a side of him that he regarded as part of his INTELLIGENCE AND CUNNING to get his steps to achieve his goals.

         Ivar remained in silence for a minute, staring at his older brother inindifference, as if he was addressing a STRANGER rather than a BROTHER .. the one who with time accepted to become his LEGS when others only offered a snort at his crawling … but he was learning to WALK   RUN by himself. ❛ I’m not asking you to prove yourself to me, Ubbe, ❜ another pause–– a small one this time, as he lifted his arm pointing to the ceiling, but with his eyes still resting on the other’s figure .. the indifference still on his eyes. ❛ but to the Gods.    What do you think they are saying right now by watching you SOFTENING to the christians?––– they areLAUGHING at you. ❜

One thing that Ubbe knew, what to never intentionally push the wrong buttons of his youngest brother. He knew that if you did so, then you were a fool and would likely end up hurt. Though Ubbe had age, strength and the ability of his legs, that did not stop him from fearing the youngest son of Ragnar. Ivar had a mind that was sharp and little to no remorse for his actions. It did not stop him from pursuing what he wanted, though. He wanted this settlement, he wanted this life and he wanted to live out his father’s dream. 

“And did the gods laugh at our father when he did the same?” Ubbe asked, his voice calm. “We already know that he is in Valhalla. Odin himself told us. If the gods had laughed at him, he would not have been welcomed there.” Ubbe moved to take a seat across from Ivar, hoping that his relaxed posture would calm his brother more. He wasn’t going to argue, just simply point out truths. “Father himself wanted this settlement here. He wanted our people to farm and live off these lands. He himself made deals with the Christians to get what he wanted, though I am not leaving my people - our people -  behind so blindly as he did. I will make sure they are protected.”
