Headline and strapline notes
As a group we came together and noted some ideas for different headlines and straplines we could consider using. Jess had the idea of having them linked with the food combinations for the posters by adding the sexual twist to link back to the brief. For example:
Headline: - Whip me up baby - Have a nice dip
Strapline: - Your body, your rules, make it magical - Its better with cream
We also listed some different words to use instead of ‘weird’ because we don't want to use words that could possibly offend anyone. Some words we thought of was: - adventurous - magical
When it comes to thinking of different headlines and straplines I find it difficult because I can be too vague or not get the correct point or message across. In my group together we can find a subtle headline and strapline for our campaign so that it can explain the message and works with the imagery too.
Great #strapline !! (at Felpham) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuTYIbll_mq9iJ6-uLxXisTdKlZkaQEpCKpt1w0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1quiuy0ogpi7y
NICE BRIEF STRAPLINES
AS NICE haven’t got a strapline as of yet, it is key to end the video with a line to capture the audience. So, I have been bouncing around ideas and looking online at possible straplines/catchphrases and hashtags to help base our campaign off it. My favourite so far is ‘Experience the NICE feeling’ but I shall be speaking to Georgina and hearing her thoughts on it and the others.
While I was researching/creating these straplines I was thinking about how we are going to create our video depending on if we have assets or not. So, I really like the idea of compiling of using family footage and adding a VHS effect over the top and possibly fading it out, and then ending it with ‘can you guess out the film who has the movement disorder?’. Initials ideas again, but I shall run it y Georgina and we chat about where to take it and how to develop it.

Final Typeface with Strapline
Name: inLight
To be doing good --> good = light --> To be in the light
How it feels too be under light/sunlight = warmth
- A light, Sans Serif font which is quite soothing to the eyes and conveys clarity of mind
-Capital L to distinguish words “in” and “light” so that it has a familiarity with “enlighten”, which means to shed light on a subject, to give greater knowledge or understanding about a subject or situation.
- The small caps letter “i” makes it more approachable and friendly, less daunting
- The font size is quite big and it’s trying to put emphasis on the fact that it important to do good, and doing good will result in good feelings.
- The stylised letter G, creates a lower arc/halo effect that connects the words “DO GOOD” and “FEEL GOOD” as a way of saying that these two things are connected. If you do good, you will feel good, and when you feel good you will want to do good, and the cycle goes on.
Strapline: Do good, feel good
- Simple and straightforward: In doing good, you will feel good
- How can you do good in the fashion world?
- All caps conveying a sense of fearlessness meaning “there is no hiding anything here, we like to discuss difficult issues and in order to find solutions so that at the end of the day, you don’t have to feel guilty for sweeping it under the rug and pretending the big elephant in the room is not there (for example, not talking about issues such as fast fashion which is having terrible effects both on people and environment alike), but can feel good instead. There is no false sense of security, we talk about these issues in order to discuss and find solutions.”
Colour choice
Not overpowering, soft, gentle, mixture of warm and cool tones to maintain a professional look
We don't keep stationery for long.
Witty strapline of the day. From Chariot Office Supplies.... although they don’t seem to use this on their website - just the delivery vans. They’re 40th anniversary competition is unusual - match the baby face games tend to only work if you personally know the people involved.
Steel doors for the real world
Strapline of the day from Prima Steel Doors. I didn’t know there was a demand for steel doors in any other worlds. The website is slightly more helpful in explaining the intent of the message as they specialise in security doors. Curiously, and it is a consistent theme, the strapline on the white van does not get carried over to the website (where they are just “specialists in steel door” - at least they are consistently self-explanatory and obvious in their messaging).
