It had been the third night in a row that she hadn’t gotten any sleep and any that she did, it was restless and the woman tossed and turned all night. Often waking up in tears and unable to go back to sleep. “

Carol barely looks up when she hears a knock on the door of her office right away, she’s too busy engrossed in Disney’s Robin Hood to notice. It was her three year old’s current favorite movie and she couldn’t say no to her and she adored Robin Hood. She couldn’t wait for the day when the little Hal look alike got into Star Wars.Carol was also glad she had put a tv in her office just for this reason since Aimee came with her more often than not.
She doesn’t notice the knock until the little brunette popped her head up with a grin. “Mama, can I answer?” She asked excitedly, not noticing the look of confusion on her mom’s face before she got the nod and the little girl beamed as she jumped up and ran over to the door, opening it wide. Little brows furrowed as hazel eyes gazed up at the tall, red headed man.
“Who you?” She asked, pursuing her lips in a manner that always seemed to reminded Carol of herself. “Are you uncle kyle’s friend? or daddy’s and mommy’s?”
Carol looked over and smiled a little. “Aimee, let Guy in. He’s a Green Lantern like daddy.” She told her daughter as the little girl nodded, moving out of the way but kept her brows furrowed.
“Do you like my daddy?”

“Hey now that’s supposed to be my shtick.” There were times that he thought that was a bad thing, this was definitely one of them. “C’mon, Hal, s’nuff.” He didn’t like Guy, the ginger knew that. But it wouldn’t stop him from trying to talk the brunet down from whatever this was he was doing. He knew Hal well enough to know.. at this point there was probably no point in trying to talk him down. But this knowledge wouldn’t stop him from at least trying.
“You think I can’t do it?” He did not remove his eyes from the barricade before him, inhumanly focused, his attention sharpen to the point it almost looked like it could cut through the shield by itself. There was a smirk on his face; it was not Hal Jordan’s usual, cocky, everything will be fine grin. This was little more than bared teeth. This smile said that something would burn.

Hazel eyes glanced over at him as she listened and shook her head. “So it’s no different than being in the Air Force.” She mused as she looked up and thought it over. They were always going to be watched. And she would be too. In space and on earth. Aimee was sure she’d never catch a break. But she was still trying to get used to being a lantern. A yawn escaped her lips as she looked back at Guy. “Is there ever a time where they don’t watch us and we catch a break? Or do they really know everything?”

She took his hand gratefully as she pulled herself up. “Fuck.” Her head hurt but she was sure the other guys felt a lot worse than she did right now. She nodded slowly, taking a deep breath. “I don’t think I’ve taken a hit like that since boot camp.” She shrugged as she looked at him. It seemed everyone liked to pick a fight with the man and well, she was there for back up. Guy knew what he was doing and he’d been a Green Lantern longer than she had been. She liked learning from him. It wasn’t like he needed though but Aimee enjoyed a good fight every now and then. Except when they ruined her drinking night. “So much for that hour off, yeah?”
