Extremely unpopular opinion:
I think the push from fandoms to get your fave to the top of the charts/ win fan voted polls is quite unhealthy. It creates a precedent that to be good fans you’re expected to spend all your money on buying and gifting singles, that you should only be streaming your fave’s song 24/7, that you have to spend all your time voting for them. And for some god forsaken reason, if you don’t, then you’ve let your fave down and you’re a horrible fan.
Just... no.
You should listen to what music you like. You don’t have to spend hours streaming one song just so it can move up in the charts. You should spend your time the way you want. You don’t have to keep clicking refresh on a page to up the views or ensure your fave wins some random poll that no one really sees/ cares about. And above all, you should spend your money on things that are important to you. You don’t have to buy 10 copies of the same song in hopes that the song moves us the charts.
Obviously, if you want to devote your time to ensuring better chart placement/ better promo for your fave - all the power to you. You keep doing that. But if you feel like it’s an obligation to be doing all of the above so that your fave succeeds, if its impeding any other aspect of your life, if you’re finding that you’re judging others for not putting in as much ‘effort’ as you - that’s wrong. There is no formula to being a good fan. Your experience is what you choose it to be and don’t let the mentality in the fandom change what you would like or need to do.
For all you people wanting an f(x) comeback this year, I hope by the time they do comeback to release an album; you guys have saved up enough money to buy their album and support them on the charts. 👀
Don’t wanna hurt no more, not over me, cause i ain’t worth it and this ain’t working, and I’m running out of words again !!!

I think as someone who has been with Monsta X for a quite a while now, the greatest satisfaction I will get is when I’ll finally be able to sit back, relax and just think to myself, “wow, they did it” and I hope with everything that 2017 is the start of a long road of success for them because they sure as hell deserve it.
