I got a copy of Stream of Passion's concert DVD, Memento, last week and it is absolutely amazing. Since the one and only time they ever came to the US was ProgPower USA (which is held in Atlanta and I live in Atlanta) back in September and I wasn't able to go, getting Memento was the next best thing to seeing one of my favorites live since they split up at the end of 2016. Marcela has truly grown as a singer in these past 11 years, and this performance is pure proof of it. I cannot wait to see what she and the guys continue to do in the future and I also can't wait to see her perform live. My #wcw this week is Marcela Bovio. @marcelabovio is the lead singer of the progressive, symphonic metal band Stream of Passion, has her own solo project and has worked with MANY bands in the metal scene (Ayreon, ReVamp, Epica, MaYaN, The Gentle Storm and Computer Mind to name a few). It's a huge bummer knowing SoP is breaking up at the end of the year and I can't go to their one and only US show ever in a few months, but knowing that she's not leaving the metal scene and the music industry altogether is comforting. I can't wait for the day I see her perform. She is so beautiful and has such a GORGEOUS voice and I know I'll lose it when I finally get to get to hear her live. I've recently been listening to SoP's song Broken lately I'm OBSESSED. It's so good. It's powerful, beautiful and my favorite thing about it is that it's dramatic. You know me, the more dramatic a song is, the more I love it. Dutch/Mexican symphonic/progressive metallers STREAM OF PASSION have announced plans to disband. The group said in a statement: “Over the past eleven years, we’ve had the time of our lives playing in stages all over the world and sharing moments of joy on stage. But all good things come to an end, and we feel it’s time to move on and search for new musical challenges. We’re proud of everything we’ve achieved, with your help, and we want to end the band history on a high note instead of losing focus, interest and drive.

“Before parting ways as a band we will perform a few goodbye shows; we also want to record a DVD to serve as a memento of the good times we’ve had. We’re also looking into adding an extra, final show towards the end of the year; more details to follow.

“Once again, we’d like to express our eternal gratitude for the support you’ve given us all these years. All of us will continue to make music, one way or the other; so we still hope to see you soon on a stage near you.

“Thank you for being part of the wonderful adventure that has been STREAM OF PASSION!”
