1枚のチカラ

僕はカメラマンでもなければ大した写真を撮る訳でもないけど、1枚の写真が持つ力や情報って本当にすごいものだなといつも考えている。だから、良い魚が釣れた時、綺麗な場所にたどり着いた時、素晴らしい出会いがあった時。四六時中カメラを首から提げはしないけど、そんな瞬間を残せる1枚をいつも撮りたいと願って、一応シャッターを切っている。

綺麗にボケた写真。キラキラした写真。バキバキに撮れた写真（語彙）。 良い写真の定義は人それぞれだけど、僕が好きで、あわよくば目指している写真の要素の一つが1枚から伝わる情報や雰囲気、謂わば「1枚のチカラ」なるものだと思う。

例えば魚が主役なら伝えたいのは魚の美しさやかっこよさだから、当然ピントを合わせるのは自分ではなかったり、その時の雰囲気や季節を伝えたいなら魚だけではなくて、映り込む風景や装備にスポットを当てるようにしてみたり。しかしながら、そんなことを考えてはいても別にそれが実行できているかどうかはいつも分からない。

この写真を見たとき、僕はブワッとした何かを感じて、撮った人間が何を考えているかは分からないけど、僕には特別な1枚だった。まさに和製ストリートフィッシングで、魚がどうこうというよりも、その時の瞬間に掴まれたような、その情景の中に自分が立っていたかのような感じ。自分の大好きなプロダクトや人が写っているのは当然あるかもしれないけど、それだけじゃない何かをこのストリートメッキに感じた。

「良い写真」を狙って撮ってはいないかもしれない。自分以外の人間には特になんでもない写真なのかもしれない（失礼）。きっとそれを狙ってやれるのがプロなのだろう。そんなものを判断できる目は持ち合わせてはいないけれど、まるで僕のしてきたことや目指しているものが美しく融合したように見えて目を奪われたのだった。とにかく特別だったのだ。1枚のチカラとその特別な1枚がイコールではないのだろうけど、特別だ。

元々は自分への覚え書き、自分のための釣り日記として初めて以来、細々と続けてきたブログも、いつの間にか雑誌やWEB媒体へのありがたい話をいただくようになり、更新頻度も減ったし、書く内容もだんだんと変わってきたしまった。変わっていくことを悪いとは思わないけど、唯一の「自分自身のメディア」なのだから、もっと自由に、そしてたくさんの言葉をもっと発信しないともったいないと新年早々考えていた。何も成してもいないのに、どこか満足してしまっていたかもしれない。この1枚に顔を軽く叩かれた。これからも綴っていかなくてはいけないし、誰かを捕まえてしまうようなチカラを持った1枚を残したいと思う。
