Seeing the Halloween merch made me realize I think stella and striker have more possible chemistry then blitz and stolas. They're minor characters with little screen time but they seem to have more in common then blitz and stolas do IMHO.
Like both stella and striker have pretty bad tempers. They're really proud and hate being made fools of. They look down on people (including those of their class they feel are giving them a bad name). They can be charming when they want/need too (it's not shown to much with stella but from her claiming she throws parties and her seeming friends I'd say she can be charming). They both enjoy physical violence, particularly straggling.
Meanwhile, I can't think of much that blitz and stolas share besides wanting a loving relationship and sex. I mean, despite having screen time together, they don't really share any interests they both enjoy. Unfortunately, the only trait they share is trying to bond with their aloof daughters.
I'm not even anti-stoliz, more neutral than anything. But I just have a hard time imagining them as a couple given their contrasting personalities and how little we've gotten between them that has real substance. I mean even if/when stolas gets past his bigotry toward imps, I'm still not sure what he and blitz could do together they'd equally enjoy besides sex.
On the other hand, I can see stella and striker getting along if they got past their hate for one anouthers class. Like if somehow the show ended with them as a hitman team I could understand why and how they function together as romantic or platonic partners (frankly I think stella would love killing people and striker could use some back up given how he loses when he gets out numbered).
And I think that kinda speaks to how poorly stoliz is written. Even if you toss out the problematic stuff like Viv wants, it still doesn't work well, at least not how it's been presented so far. I just don't know what these guys see in each other besides their need to not be alone. Besides the crippling need to be loved and their sexual desires, what else makes them click as a couple? Nothing, really.
You got down to the major issue is that blitzo and stolas don't click. Even as kids thry didn't really click since blitzo was bored hanging out with him. They both at heart don't have any foundation to really like each other. No sane adult would obess over a childhood playmate they met for one day it's desperate and pathetic on stolas' part (or again shows how abysmal the writing is).I agree when a non canon parallel ship has more dynamic that the main pair you screwed up and stella keeps on winning.
