#Repost @shannonrowbury ・・・ As a runner and soon to be first time mom, I have been discovering running from an entirely new point of view. For so long, my running focus has been performance and my body has been my tool to achieve my athletic dreams. As I experience pregnancy for the first time, I am discovering this entire new range of ability that a human body (the woman’s body), is capable of…growing another person! My body is still my tool of sorts, but for now, my number one performance goal is my baby girl. I exercise to stay healthy and I love the fact that my baby also seems to love it when I’m active (she kicks me if I don’t move enough). I get out and move almost everyday (because let’s be real, sometimes a pregnant mom is just too tired). The fresh air and the blood flow keep me feeling energized, but the intensity and volume of my training is so much less because most of my energy is going towards baby-building. I still do interval training, but now in my third trimester, the “workouts” are a mix of running with walking. ••• Because I believe so strongly in the value of being active during pregnancy and because I think sharing love for a healthy lifestyle with one’s spouse and children is so valuable, I am excited to announce my partnership with @TheStrollerRun . I will be participating in the inaugural event, taking place in the Bay Area on May 12th. My stroller at that time will still be my belly, but I am so excited to connect with other parents and families. This is a run, kids camp, and mom expo all focused on empowering moms and their families to live active lifestyles together with their community. Come join me and if you want discount, use the promo code “SR18” to save $5 on registration (link is in my bio). <—SR = The SR is for Stroller Run, but it also works for Shannon Rowbury...Love it! 😜😎 #bayarea #motherrunner #runlikeamom #strollerrunner #runlikeamom #mothersday #community (at Bakersfield, California)
