First day at #EGX2022! Actually spent more time catching up with than playing #videogames, but did manage to try out this impressive student game from @abertayuni made in just 2 months! Will be back tomorrow to play more around the exhibition floor 🎮🌟 ----------------------------------------------------- TAGS: #EGX #indiegamedevelopment #studentgame #playtogether #event #social #gaming #videogames #students #gamedevelopers #gamers #fun #friends #follow #instagood #igers #geek #otaku #familyfriendly #instalike (at ExCeL London) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci3G7VMo-nS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Hi! Dylan (test lead, production assistant + whatever else needs doing) here,
GrrGrr doesn’t have her animations in yet but we are happy with her AI. The little red and blue dots are tools that let GrrGrr jump different heights depending on which one the level designer places.
Here you can see GrrGrr walking towards the player character, jumping different heights based on the jump tool and shooting the player when she gets close enough.
Looking forward to sharing the boss level with you all
Proton
Hello hello ! Here now I can share one of the games prototypes I've made recently for school ! And this one is a complete neat playable demo with all the necessary feedbacks and no bugs I'm super proud ! Proton is a complete Twin Stick shooter demo I created using Unreal Engine 4 during my Game Design degree !
We had to make a Twin Stick Shooter in 3 weeks as groups of 3, and we designed a very original twin stick shooter that has very developed movement mechanics using the shots of the player !
You can learn more on the Itch.io page !

Sell Sheets! Round 2
Making a Sell Sheet for our game was...interesting. Featuring such challenges as; paper shortages, formatting details taking hours longer than anticipated, and somehow 2 A5 PDfs not being the same size when it came to printing...
Lesson of the Day - Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, a Sell Sheet doesn’t have to be a sheet of paper.

Let’s dive into the game... (english version)
We’d like to detail to you our student game, that will be released this Summer on PC, Mazzeru :)
“Un' si sà mai da u bè à u malu”
We never know if it’s good or evil, like we use to say in Corsica. Some actions seem to be bad but can prove to be good, and vice versa, and every acts combined of several individuals are even more unpredictable. It is far from clear...
This is the big struggle of the mazzeru : relentless killer or necessary guide, tradition hesitates about this funereal Corsican prophet. In his or her dreams, the mazzeru kills an animal and realizes that this is somebody he knows. The victim, deprived of its soul, will probably die in the days ahead… unless one saves him.
This is Orsa, the Main Character of Mazzeru (made by Victor Mellini - personnal site here)
In this third-person adventure and reflexion game, there is these dualities : day and night, reality and dream, life and death.
Orsa, the heroine, discovers during a strange and brutal dream that she is a mazzera, and will visit her island and village seeking the future victim.
With an old storyteller named Deziu and the intrepid Luciferu, his two guides in this tragedy, the player gradually understands the different links between the villagers : in these places where peoples are consolidated and interdependents, anything is heard, anything is known, anything is told.
Luciferu and Deziu, with their particular visual style (made by Victor Mellini - personnal site here)
Most of the play experience is therefore based on what is seen and told.
The lucid dreams of Orsa, the scenery and all the dialogues with multiple choices are useful clues for the rescue she initiated. Depending on who she talks to, in which order and what she says, she gets different informations to improve her investigation.
The player has to unravel the true from the false and the essential from the useless if he wants a chance to save the unfortunate person he doomed at the beginning of the game.
Rough 2D mock-up of the in-game camera - A Third Person video game
Who is going to die ? Is Orsa capable of saving him ? How does she live her new burden and how is she perceived by the villagers ?
So many mysteries and questions which we can answer only by playing Mazzeru, a deeply Corsican video game, in its language, its fabled inspirations and its medieval world.
But will you be brave enough to be a mazzeru ?
