The last 2 posts are a little late, but I still wanted to let people know that I hit these milestones— and all this is just the beginning!

My artwork sold, twice!

A few months ago, I put my piece “Four Seconds” into a local art gallery exhibiting artwork created by high school students. Out of the 20-30 pieces available, only about 4 pieces sold that night— the first of which was mine! Which to me was crazy— I wasn’t even trying to sell it, and if I was I would have definitely lowered the price. Yet, someone bought the piece for $40 that night! I was star struck when I got the check next month, like “are your sure this is for me?”— it was amazing!

The second time was with my piece “Skyline To”. After I sold “Four Seconds” at the gallery, apparently someone liked that piece enough to show it to the people in charge of the “Spring Break for Autism” auction. This auction was not only supported charity, but also show cases pieces from well established artists— people that are professionals rather than students (in fact, I may have been the only artist in the auction still in high school). The auction runners loved what I did with “Four Seconds”, and asked me if I would be willing to create another piece for their auction. I happily said yes and began work on what would become “Skyline To” (the name of course being a nod to the Frank Ocean song). I wasn’t able to appear personally on the day of the auction, but I have been told that the piece sold!

I guess now this technically makes me a professional artist!

Not really a portfolio piece, but I wanted to have a new avatar/icon, so I figured I’d draw the protagonist of an upcoming short, “Snowy”. His name is Jelly, and I love him too.
