PMUA just collected donations for the truck protests and if you requested a refund they gave it. They didn’t want “full control” of the company, they wanted to meet with PM and discuss how to protect employees from things like the incel attack on vellmori.

when they later rebranded to KGCS they raised money to help the affected animator from Studio Ppuri, helped the studio with how they handled the issue and aided them by setting up those meetings open to the public where the studio could address concerns. I would think this is the type of thing they could have done with Project Moon. Again you (not just you but anyone making a post or video like this)need to watch where this information is coming from, there is a huge push from misogynists to mainstream this narrative of “greedy unions” going after PM for purely monetary concerns. Recently it looks like “foreign youtubers” are asking these guys on the typical incel messageboards for their “opinions” on the issue. (?)

sorry most of this is direct links to this blog bc it’s the easiest thing for me to search but I usually always post direct links. some other weird shit I’ve seen only coming from English speaking communities - they think the switch from PMUA to KGCS was for some grift, it was literally because they were expanding the scope of the issues they tackled. people think they scammed people out of money that was supposed to go to vellmori - this one is insane and I’m guessing also based on a game of telephone from someone who was not watching these events happen in real time and does not speak Korean. The first protest truck was not from the PMUA. This other group got donations, and when the money went over what was needed, they floated the idea of trying to get it to vellmori but ultimately they were unable to get in touch with her and gave the money to women’s organizations. KGCS will post what they’re fundraising for, I think it’s almost always legal fees for clients like the Studio Ppuri animator, they usually get the money quickly, close the donation box so any money after that is returned and then you are able to immediately request refunds if you want. I’m not their PR agent or anything so I can’t field questions for them lol but all of this is good work, especially their help with Ppuri. the fact that this has been twisted into some stereotypical ambulance chaser group and the labor union has been slandered as some greedy power hungry group to young and impressionable fans who will believe it because they see them on the “them” side on the “us (project moon fans) VS them” binary they’ve built in their heads is a bit scary

MTL of a recent article going over how the 🤏 male hysteria has pointedly damaged female workers and censored feminist ideas. It speaks mostly about the recent Renault situation but namedrops some of the misogynistic attacks and terminations we are familiar with- Nexon, Project Moon, Studio Ppuri, etc. for clarity I edited some of the pronouns that MTL fucks up (he changes to she) and terminology (misogyny when it should say misandry). I added a note to the “girls do not need a prince” section for those not familiar, and in the second paragraph only the first sentence is referring to Limbus Company if you’re confused about how that paragraph got structured in the MTL. obviously it’s not great to rely on this but I think the article is still understandable in this state and worth a read.

spreading false information about the nexon maplestory incident legitimately puts the victim in danger. if you’ve read the interviews with her posted here she explains the stalking, doxxing, and death/graphic assault threats that number over 3,000 from the incels that hate her because they believe she put a pinched finger hand in this cartoon. her life has been completely upended because of this.
