'Dungeon Fighter Online'
[PC] [USA] [MAGAZINE] [2010]
"Not content with enslaving millions of players in the enduring Maple Story, Nexon's wildly popular casual 2D MMO, the net gaming giant is preparing to unleash Dungeon Fighter Online to Western audiences, sure to inspire a hardcore 2D MMO crowd. Known as Dungeon & Fighter across Asia, DFO is heavily inspired by Capcom's series of fantasy-themed 2D arcade titles, most notably D&D: Shadow over Mystara. Players love this classic form of side-scrolling fantasy beat 'em up. Dungeon Fighter Online is kind of like the Item Collection mode in D&D Collection for Saturn, but raised to a massively multiplayer scale of advancement and itemization. Like other MMOs, you'll get quests, slay creatures, gain levels and find loot in DFO, often in the company of party members. Those classically drawn 2D characters you see are actually complex RPG avatars, with five initial classes that can each specialize into several additional class types at higher levels. The character design is rather bad ass, and one of the reasons why the game did gangbusters in Asia-even spawning an anime series in Japan last month. DFO should be entering US beta later this summer, and it's rumored that Nexon may add full control pad support to this version. Please do." ~Play Magazine (USA) (June 2009, #90)

Games that have disabled characters or donated to disabled people
Nexon (Blue Archive & Maple Story)
Donated $282,000 to the Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital to improve the hospital's anti-infection measures system to protect its young patients during 2020.
Hypergryph (Arknights)
Known for repeatedly making donations equivalent to around $80k to various charities. They're always unannounced and get leaked by fans in the area so it was hard to verify the information without speaking Chinese, though one reportedly funded wheelchairs for students.
Baizhu (Genshin Impact)
Baizhu is a medicinal master that canonically has a chronic illness causing extreme frailness. "Good medicine is so bitter, so it shouldn't be a problem to let a good doctor keep a few secrets, no?"
Cellar Door Games (Rogue Legacy)
Players may have disabilities set as traits in-game! These traits will directly impact your gameplay.
Ninja Theory (Hellblade Series)
Psychosis and Dissociation is a main factor into this story. Use surround sound headphones to experience simulated audio hallucinations.
Olivia (Fear and Hunger 2)
When Olivia gets hit with a strong attack, she can be knocked from her chair and can't attack until you spend a turn getting back in it. She can still cast magic and use items when on the ground, so she's not helpless.
Despite everything, she's one of the best characters in the game because, as a biologist, she can craft strong poisons that decimate even late-game bosses.
Dunban (Xenoblade Chronicles)
Dunban has one paralyzed arm and acts accordingly in battle. He tends to fight with more kicks and uses a sword with his other arm.
Venus (Stray Gods)
Venus is a wheelchair user who was chosen by Aphrodite to be her successor.
SMG Studio (Moving Out)
Moving out allows you to customize your character with wheelchairs, hijabs, and other accessible features! SMG Studio has frequently communicated with fans via X about how they went about making the game further accessible.
Jorge (The Flower Collectors)
In The Flower Collectors, you play Jorge, a former cop in a wheelchair that witnesses a murder. This game is played from the setting of Jorge's balcony where you use his binoculars to crack open a case.
