27/3/2020 | 7/60 Days of Productivity |
What is your favourite topic to study at the moment?
Although it's a far cry from my favourite topic, I'd have to say my neuropharmacology module. Out of this academic year though I'd say my cognitive and behavioural neuroscience module from last semester
(yes I have been in Rocky Horror twice, that’s why I have 2 stickers)
After what seems like a long hiatus I’m back on a small productivity streak. Instantaneous rate and participation coefficient are super taxing on a person with low math skills like me but you got to do what you got to do.
↳ 100 days of productivity | 52, 53, 54/100

- filmed and uploaded an ASL video
Astrid’s self-study, stuck-at-home routine:
Hello peeps! Right now, I have zero school and zero work, because I was sent home early from my study abroad year. It’s very scary, and I was very stressed for a while. I decided to take action, so that I wouldn’t be stuck inside all day for 5 months with no obligations. Here is my routine, what I do roughly each day.
08:00 - Waking up☁️
I wake up, get dressed, make my bed, and do my skin care routine. I make breakfast, usually a cup of tea and a bowl of oatmeal or something similar. I try and eat a fruit or vegetable with every meal.
While eating breakfast, I listen to audiobooks or read books. Some of my recent favourite audiobooks are: Truly Devious, Daisy Jones and the Six, The Inexplicable Logic of My Life.
10:00 - Study time 📚
I study one subject, ranging from Biology, History, French or Social Science. For language study, I use Duolingo, as well as reading and annotating my Harry Potter books in french. For Biology and History, I use Khan Academy, which I cannot recommend enough. It’s a free learning platform with thousands of lessons on several subjects.
I try and study for about two hours every day, but of course some days I do more, and some days I do less. It’s all about what I feel I need. I never let myself study less than half an hour a day.
12:00 - Midday break🥓🍳
Lunch! I usually try to make something healthy for lunch, but some days it’s just toast and coffee. I think it’s important to maintain your main meals everyday, because they function like pillars in everyday life.
I usually listen to a podcast or an audiobook, or I treat myself and watch some youtube.
13:00 - Time outside 🌲
After Lunch spend some time outside! I take a lot walks, some times I take a jog.
I’m lucky because I don’t live in a city, and I don’t have to walk far to be in the middle of either the forest or on the beach. If you have the opportunity, try and spend time each week in nature.
14:00 - Light exercise ✔️
When I get home from my walk, I do a little yoga. I’m still a yoga beginner, but it’s been a lot of fun.
If I’m not in the mood to do yoga, I watch some YouTube or Netflix while drinking some tea and having a snack.
15:00 - home improvement 🧼
This is when I start doing things like cleaning, decluttering, do laundry or other cleaning and organizing activities. By putting it later in the day, I’m not breaking my back first thing in the morning by doing boring and strenuous tasks.
Examples of things I do are: tidy kitchen, clean my desk, wash my makeup brushes, do laundry or clean my shoes.
16:00 - Dinner 🥘
This is when I start planning dinner. I eat quite early, so dinner is usually served by five or five thirty. I like making food, but planning meals is the most boring thing is the entire world.
After dinner I clean and do the dishes.
19:00 - winding down 🌅
This is personal time. If I have any other things to get done, I do them now. If not, this is where I can watch movies, scroll through social media, or watch YouTube. If I see that I haven’t done my Duolingo, I do it now.
I journal every day, as you can see on my blog.
I drink a lot of green tea throughout the day. Usually when I unwind, I do it with a nice cup of tea.
21:00 - Going to bed 💤
After 21:00, it’s down time.
I do my skin care routine, put on my pyjamas, and get into bed
Some days I do a last round on Duolingo.
Then I sleep, listening to asmr or a podcast, by 23:00.
