guess who was so angry abt the recent mulan news that she actually changed her sign for the first time in like,, six months? this girl!! anyway i’m high-key hoping that twitter outrage will pressure disney into fixing this mess but if u wanna hear more about the situation, i wrote a lil rant below. 

what’s happening:

as if taking out the songs wasn’t bad enough (reflection is so important!! and erasing i’ll make a man out of you is a literal injustice smh), li shang might be replaced by some dude named commander tung who is apparently a complete jerk to mulan till he finds out she’s a girl and suddenly views her as a love interest. also there’s going to be a witch, a sister, no mushu and some hidden magic power within mulan before training. um what?? i was so excited for this movie bc it’s a disney classic and it means so much to a lot of ppl and good asian rep is so freaking rare in hollywood but the direction they’re headed seems so contradictory to the original---mulan was strong bc she worked hard, not bc of magic or a guy. the girl did it on her own. and li shang managed to be a genuinely interesting and masculine love interest w/o being a bully (not to mention the potential bi rep) and they’re replacing him with...the complete antithesis of that. beauty & the beast / cinderella made some minimal changes but kept most of the story and the heart of the story the same, so why is there a double standard for mulan? there are already so few asian musicals. why do they have to take this too?

[ Day 2/100 ]

Today I’m working on filling out event approval sheets for my SGA’s upcoming school year. My mother brought me a much appreciated smoothie, and I got all the forms filled out!!! Now they just have to be approved.

14.07.2017 ::  Started a new notebook to conquer my collection and bring all those notebooks to use. They’ve been waiting long enough. This one will be dedicated to collect information on Cambrian, Ordovician and Silurian geologic formations around the world, how to get there, what lithologies they show, how thermally mature they are, what fossils we might find in there. It’s a heap of tedious work but it needs to be done and will be an amazing collection in the end (I hope).
