14 months with studybuddy today and to be HONEST im feeling really bad because I’ve been SO BUSY lately and didn’t plan anything cute and when i got back from class i wanted to spend quality time with him but i was so drained

I’ve been really busy with the research lab, I go for like three hours minimum daily lately and I’m trying really really hard with it because it’s literally the most suitable position for me given my major and stuff. 

I’m also feeling down because studybuddy helped facilitate me earning this research position but he himself is still looking and I want to return the favor and help him find one but it’s so hard honestly

Anyways in my ochem lab it feels like we my tuition is finally getting put to use that benefits me LOL, at UCLA we have a DART-MS machine (complicated) but basically we are one of the few universities to own one and being in this ochem class leTs ME uSe iT hAnDs oN so i am so honored to be a student here honestly i appreciate my life

So i was talking to the senior researcher today (the one that oversees me) and guess hwat lmao he is a UCLA alumni as well and got his degree in biochemistry so he took a lot of the same classes as I did!! 

I told him about how sometimes i feel regretful of my first year because it was hard and i didn’t grasp opportunities and that i feel like i’ve wasted a lot of time, but he said that it wasn’t a waste because it’s better to start really getting into things as a second year because you are a more experienced, matured student. He said he’s glad that im a second year because i’ve taken a lot of classes that have gone over the concepts we are pursuing in lab so that made me feel better about myself LOL

also ive been eating a lot of salads lately which is kinda not ellee-ish but i don’t have time to come back to eat lunch in dining halls so i have to bring lunch to campus and the salads are the only thing i can get before i leave so i guess im being forced to be healthy

im tired but it feels ok

Help!

For the past couple years of my degree I haven't had a house with enough room to have my own desk! This year that's a little different, our new place has plenty of room allowing me to have my own little study space! I just don't know what I should be looking for in the "perfect" desk! Any suggestions would be lovely!!

Balance reminder

Some days 

you feel alright

you have everything done

your room is cleaned perfectly

no to dos from your list remain

you wear nice clothes and have a great hairstyle

everything is pretty organised 

you manage to help at home 

you manage to combine studying with your social life.

The other days 

you may feel sick 

you get up late and don’t feel like doing anything 

your todos remain unfinished 

you have your hair messy as well as your room and studyplace

you stay almost all the day in your pyjamas eating gummy bears and browsing the Internet on your mobile phone while conversating with your friends through social website.

Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean you are unstable or you started being unorganised. It means BALANCE.
