Sometimes the stumbles we experience cause us to get back in touch with the basics in our lives. The fundamentals. I recently experienced several small realizations of the fact that I was far away from my goals, even though I showed up each and everyday to work on them. The quality of my thoughts suffered greatly during this time, thus, the quality of my work fell. My work ended up being “acceptable” by my standards, but it wasn’t excellent as it had been in the past. I was down. I was no longer striving for the next big thing which led me to distraction. This process has hurt a little bit, but it indeed has made me a bit wiser and stronger than I would have been if things had remained positive for me.
