I can’t catch a break...

Hey, guess what? I had surgery a couple days ago. Yay. 😑

My gallbladder had to be removed. It hurt like. a. bitch. It was 10 times the size it should have been. I was shocked it didn’t burst after being like that over the years. My surgeon said it was the largest gallbladder she has seen. Crazy right?

Yesterday I was discharged from the hospital and I am currently recovering from my surgery. My follow-up is in a week. And not gonna lie, I’m pretty sore. 😅

Anyway, I’m sorry that I was getting back to posting only to have this happen of all things. Please don’t worry.

Drabbles on hold

Apologies for no drabbles. Apparently my gallbladder didn't want to take the easy way out and my keyhole surgery quickly became full cut me open surgery. I'm currently in hospital but hope to be home on Monday fingers crossed. I'm tired and sore but otherwise good. Here's to better health and healing.

A Little Piece of Seriousness

I have gallstones. They are removing my gallbladder. I hate being sick and, what’s more is that I hate missing school. I spent this evening writing relief because I go into surgery on Thursday. I spent much of my time debating over whether I should tough it out for tomorrow and the next day, bearing in mind I am on a lot of painkillers and it is winter. Luckily my friends (majority teachers) and family convinced me to stay home. Relief is written, reports are mostly done. I’m still a little stressed about missing school but what can you do...

In the Hospital

So my trip to the gastroenterology doctor turned into a trip to the ER which turned into being in overnight for observation and testing in the morning. I’ll know what they are going to do after that. There was talk of doing a scope to just remove gall stones. I’m hoping they’ll just go ahead and pull the whole gall bladder. It would make more sense seeing as I’ve got a long history of issues with it. 

At least I’m at my favorite local hospital. I’ve got a bed by the window and enjoying an amazing sunset under the lingering storm clouds. And I have Wi-Fi so I’m not bored off my ass while I’m looped out on pain meds. :-p
