I can't take it with this language anymore. The Conservatives used it on BLM protestors and we're hearing it today from Progressives towards the insurgency on Capitol Hill.
Make no mistake. What happened today was twisted and unlawful. And the hypocrisy of Republicans with their Law and Order and Blue Lives crap makes my blood boil.
But what I saw at the barricade line today wasn't aimless wanton violence. It was scared and brainwashed Americans screaming with full, resentful conviction that their election was stolen. Yes, America's democracy is being pulled apart at the seams, but these citizens believe wholeheartedly that they were fighting FOR it.
This is a cult. And Drumpf is their delusional, megalomaniacal leader. We can’t dismiss them as simple 'goons'. They've been conned, and we need to start addressing how and why so many people can get it oh-so-very wrong.
So let’s be reaaaaal careful with our divisionist and sensational language. That is how we got here in the first place. Let's talk about how religion, lack of education, capitalism, intergenerational racism, propaganda (ahemFoxNews), and social media echo chambers have manipulated and radicalized a STUNNING number of everyday citizens and impassioned them into the outburst of fear, anger and desperation we saw today.
Humans lacking fair journalistic news sources and their own cognitive reasoning/research skills? Definitely. But terrorists out with the express purpose of causing terror??? Oh no. It’s much more fucked up than that.
